***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Does anyone raise silver dorkings? I'm interested in possibly getting some...just testing the waters locally. Thanks :)

Genepittman raises them. You might try shooting him a message. If you live in SW OK he's not very close, as he's NE. He's had eggs in the Coweta auction each month, so it's a possibility he sells eggs in the other auctions in the state.

I sure do love Dorrkings; they're the friendliest, sweetest birds.

Hmmm so I my have to go the hatchery way...or wait until next year and read up on hatching eggs. I've never done that and don't have a good broody hen yet. Thanks for the info!

Are you coming to P.O.O.P.S. on June 14th? If you are, I will bring some layers in a cage with your name on it. Send me a PM. I've got some really pretty Cinnamon Queens that are just about ready to lay.

Where is the P.O.O.P.S. being held???

To anyone who has some girls who are laying or near laying I would be interested in 3-5. Breed is not really important to me at this time. (If the place was already posted I've been absent of late and have not caught up, so please forgive me)

POOPS will be in Tahlequah on June 14th. Click on the link in my signature line for more information. Hope to see you there!

Oh Lord have mercy!! Tahlequah is one of my favorite places on earth :)

IF I have a rental car by then I will plan on coming, would be GREAT fun!!

ohhh my! What a doll!
this girl was funny- had put a brinsea bator with some serama eggs in it within eyesite of her, she stared at that bator for 2 days, i finally gave them to her- she raised them all-

I am so, so, sorry for your loss. She looks SO sweet and I can only imagine how much she'll be missed. My son told me tonight he could wring my neck. When I asked why he said, "Mom, do you realize you have me attached to a chicken"????!!!! :D We had no idea we would develop such an affection for 'chickens', so who knew?! I hope you were able to get a daughter or granddaughter from her.

Quote: yes, they will sneak up and steal your heart before you know it- amazing birds. No, this little lady adopted her kids, they all have their quirks, and this girl was never happier than raising babies..

Well, that is too bad, but perhaps one of those she raised will take on her mothering qualities and keep the legacy going! I hope some of my girls turn out half as good as she was.

@DBerryHill - I can already hear my husband telling me "NO MORE CHICKENS"!!! lol

Anyone have a guess what color or breed this spotted clean legged pea combed supposed bantam is? I couldn't get a picture of it alone but it is the splotchy and white one
