***OKIES in the BYC III ***

If anyone is near the Gage area, this dog (Parsen Russell Terrier)
went missing between 8 and 11 am on the 4th of July. There was another dog (do not have a picture) that was a black and tan spaniel mix with them. They went missing from about 7 miles north of Gage, OK. There is a reward for the safe return of the dogs, or any information that helps locate the dogs.
This dog went everywhere with my friend's dad. He lost his mother about a year ago, Monica (the dog) rides in his truck everywhere and is the only dog he's ever allowed in the house. He's broken hearted and we need to find these dogs. Monica is a pure blood show dog and super friendly. She is microchipped but might not be wearing a collar.
If you live in the area, I can message you my phone number (I'd put it on here, but I think that's against the rules?) or I can be reached via personal message at any time. It goes straight to my phone.
Please help us find these dogs.

Kass,
I believe you stated things very well. To each their own. I prefer to cull hard and fast as it solves a world of problems moving forward.
I firmly believe regardless of what an individual raises from garden vegetables to animals only the strong should survive as this keeps things more enjoyable and much less of job.

yeah...me too...but most silkie people have a different relationship with their birds. Not bad, just different.

The other side to the coin is that the enjoyable part of animals rearing for some *is* the nurturing & nursing. Their reward is the animal (hopefully) getting better. It's far from a "job" to them, they thrive with an animal to take care of. I'll do antibiotics, injections, worming, etc. but I've learned if they don't respond in a couple days they're probably not going to and I'm a lot more likely now to end their suffering (well, have my husband end their suffering).
It just all depends on each person's reasons for keeping animals/chickens.
There's certainly a need for ALL the different types.

Absolutely a place for everyone. It all depends on needs, desires, goals, temperament, and space.

@Fancychooklady can give some good information. Maybe you can pm her and ask her? I would recommend nutri-drench over the poly-vi-sol, but that's my personal preference.

@ashtree the science is in on wryneck. You need to keep up the thiamine B1. There are several vita packs that can be added routinely to the flocks water. I would recommend you keep some on hand. A drop of polyvisol directly into the beak twice a day will see your little guy back on his feet. I would also take a good look at the feed. It may well be lacking in essential vits and minerals.

that's a good point, some stores don't rotate out old stock. My local feed store sold me two bags of rancid (like...dumpster full of animal scraps rancid) feed but claimed "they didn't smell anything" anything to make a buck, even if it makes animals sick in the process.
The car stunk for quite some time after the bags were removed.thats not what I meant to quote...what's the deal with the forum today?
there \/
