***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@Kassaundra Can't wait to see the Rabbitat-love the name! 2 of my boys are at the vet's getting neutered today. 2 down, 8 to go.

Hey Kass, did you find a good resource for edible wild plants for bunnies? My girl apparently hates the bunny chow.

Thanks everyone for your caring words and prayers. I fianlly got some sleep, but didn't get up until noon. Hubby had to let all the kids out and water. I'm going to try to put the update my son wrote on Facebook about 5 hrs ago. It used to work, but i know a lot has changed and my computer is still tempermental.

UPDATE: Its been a long night but her surgery went well and they got the bleeding stopped. In addition to the lacerated liver she did lose one kidney that completely stopped functioning. Instead of removing the kidney they chose to install a coil into the damaged artery with the clot and cut and cauterize something else via an arthroscopic procedure to stop all blood flow to the dead kidney thereby preventing any future bleeds and apparently the body will deal with the dead kidney on its own. She is still in an ICU unit and is being listed in critical but stable condition. When she is awake she is pretty loopy with all the meds an pain killers. I'm sure as soon as she comes around fully she will get on here thank everyone herself. Again all the thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and I know will definitely mean a lot to her as soon as she fully sees all of the posts, comments, texts and phone calls she's missed. Thank you everyone as it means more than you know to me too!v

This is a closed FB group, they are for meat rabbits so lots of pics of that nature, but the guy who started the group has lots of info in the files about naturally feeding rabbits, he doesn't use pellets at all. I found they LOVE sprouted grains. (so far I do boss, oat, wheat, barley, forage seed) to a 4 or 5 day sprout (fodder would be even better I just can't seem to manage fodder)

Glad she is improving!

Help! All out door green forest harvesters. I have scored milkweed. Problem, I'm late the pods are all over 1 1/2" long, but they haven't opened yet.

Can you still eat the larger pods? How do you fix them? Am I just out of luck? I have the smallest ones boiling. I assume you fist still need to boil them twice.

All the recipes refer to 1 1/2" pods or smaller, after reading description, history and all kinds of good info ... But not how to cook until last. Then it is vague.

Okay guys here is the Rabbitat. I am posting a link to my FB album b/c many pics have explanations and I don't want to type all that again. It is far from done, but you can get an idea of where we are heading w/ it.

Super smart design.

@hotcurltr so glad to hear your daughter in law is improving. Sounds like lots of people are rooting for her. I hope your son is able to get some rest too

@artsyrobin Ive been looking at the chick picture and I just can't tell if its boy or girl. I agree that it does not have enough of a comb for a cockerel but it kinda looks like saddle feathers are developing. My fingers are crossed you have a girl. How did your roo respond to his presence?

I have no clue about cooking or eating milkweed, I thought it was poison. Nanakat may know though.
