***OKIES in the BYC III ***

It is my understanding, you only have to have new birds tested if you buy from someone that isn't NPIP certified. Is that correct? Also I think you can take a course for $35 to become a certified tester, to get around that problem. My big concern is, with everything government, that they will decide to over reach their authority and tell me how many birds I am allowed, and force a bunch of regulations on how coops are designed or what materials they are made of. Mainly I was just wondering, if anyone had a horror story, of the government coming in and telling them how to do things or or telling them they had to spend a lot of money to meet government code?

Do any of you have a Black Copper Marans rooster you would be willing to sell, I have 7 BC Hens but lost my rooster a few months ago. I live in Peggs, which is north of Tahlequah, anywhere in northeast Oklahoma would be ideal.

@NanaKat Any bantam cochins? Besides the buff boy of course

I have the little Black Bantam cock bird same age as the Buff. Do you still want the little Polish hen Miss Pollyanna that runs with the Buff?

AHEM!!!!
Nobody touches that Cochin boy!
Consider him sold, Nana!
Quote: So Mitzi gets this Blue Cochin cockerel. He does look a lot like your Clint!

Someone asked: So Yes, I will have some Blue and perhaps Splash pullets and a Blue Splash cockerel that are about six months of age....

Several of you had interest in a few birds when I posted last week...I started a list...let me know if there are any changes...
Diana has said she wants some pullet/hens that are the Co/Wy cross...so Ive reserved a few of the older girls for her.

Due wants a trio of Buckeye...I'm looking for a few pullets to put with a same age or little older cockerel....will let you know....
and a couple of the Co/Wy cross birds...

David was interested in a trio of Col Wyandotte....not sure if there will be a trio. There have not been many hatch and too few girls...will see what I can put together.

Carl took me to a friend's home and I was able to purchase these lovely pairs of Serama. The two pullets were a little nervous in the picture box, as was the BBR cockerel. They were too timid to stand up tall. But the Mottled strutted his stuff. My Granddaughter has not seen them yet...won't se be surprised!

There are several breeding possibilities....so much to contemplate.

I tossed some deer forage seeds in the grow beds that are ready in the Rabbitat and they are sprouting beautifully. I plan on moving the comfrey there this fall (the big grow beds that they can't get to so I can feed it w/o them eating it to the ground. I need to get the rest made and placed and filled so I can plant the entire Rabbitat.

Hoping the plan works for a bit of a self serve buffet for them, that is the idea anyway.
