***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@ashtree wanted to see my other Cochin chicks, so I thought I'd show everyone. They're cruddy pics, but I was in a hurry. I'm pretty positive they're all Cochin, but non-standard colors except for the black one. Lesson learned when buying hatching eggs. I love them though, so it's all good. None ended up frizzled, which was another disappointment. The black one is my only boy, I think, which is good. Notice my young Blue Double-laced Barnie--I'm excited for her to grow up. She's got a fella waiting on her and her splash sister.

I've got some Tolbunt Polish eggs on the way...fun! Odds are 50/50 on frizzled, so maybe I'll get lucky there.

I believe that @kelielliott was also interested in banty cochins!

I only hatched the lone banty egg. The rest of these are large fowl. When I ordered the eggs, I paid for 6 large fowl. She threw in LOTS of bantam eggs, so i put them under a broody. Lost the broody to the heat so put what I could (they were COLD when I discovered the broody had passed) into my mini with the other eggs. just the one survived.

I can't wait to see these big girls grow up!

My most favorite pet is my tiny Serama rooster, Channing. His little "Henlet" has been sitting on 2 of his eggs and 1 is pipped!!!!
I held it up to my ear and actually heard the baby peep!!
I'm going to have a Grand Chickie!!! I hope they both hatch, these will be THE most spoiled birds their whole lives :))))
Channing's nickname is "B" (long story). So this 1st baby's name is going to be "Mini B". I hope it goes ok :fl

Me too! I pre-ordered the eggs, so I won't even get them for a month. So, I'm still looking for some neat eggs to hatch now. I have two mini bators...one is empty. :( Seems wrong, lol.

Not really a bad thing if you need to quickly pull new babies - you can use the second mini as a mini brooder

Thanks for thinking of me @bardies! I am really wanting those lemon blue, self blue, blue or lavender bantam Cochins! Who would have known it was so hard! And I guess I am also off season!

My Serama, Channing, is a baby-daddy :) We had to leave earlier and when we got back his hen had pushed the pipped egg about a foot away from her and it was cold. Yes, you know it, I felt like bawling. I could hear faint clicking noises so I put it in the small incubator I've left running in case I needed it. He'd been pipped almost 24 hrs so I went ahead and peeled chunks of shell away. Yolk and veins were absorbed. He stretched and popped the top off the shell and I left him there with the bottom still on him. I'll check him in a few hrs again. He's tiny and black and precious!!! I'm hoping the other hatches, too.
Channing is passing out corn cob cigars!
