you must be the happiest chicken mama/grandma ever!

Does anyone know of a local source for oxine? No luck finding it at atwoods and I would like to get it this weekend. I'm in Central OK but going to Okemah (hello goose) on Sunday.
I've only ordered it through Revival Animal health, wonder if you could have it ordered through your feed store? Then you could pick it up there?

@Ksane serama baby.. then

and now- my clone! LOL!

Here you go Kyzmette. These are all your babies. We had 6, lost 2 the day of those really bad storms. No idea what happened to them, I was out in the rain for an hour searching. These 4 are amazing though! Barely even need their momma, they'll up and leave her and follow me to the food. It's amazing how well they blend in too!

I'm also looking for a rooster for my MIL if anyone has one for sale or trying to get rid of. She was supposed to get one with her recent order but he's a she. She has mostly EE, but probably wouldn't care what he was. She wants one around they same age (her pullets were born in May.)

Cuties! I have some april or may born boys left, two exchequer leghorns, a jubilee orpington, and a black ameraucana. Dont want much for them, maybe $5 each to help cover their feed. I'm in Coweta let me know if you're interested.

@poco pollo I think one of the capons from the clinic at my house is actually a slip. Hes got quite the comb and wattles going on! Been trying to deny it but it's no use! Will try to get a picture tomorrow.

Awww, look at those cutie patooties! The last one sure is interesting; wish I knew which egg that one came from. I hope at least one of those is a super jumbo egglayer for you.

Just finished giving 18 heifers shots to abort calves...The young heifers had been bred by what was supposed to be a low birth weight bull and none are over 2 - 3 months bred.  The calves born this fall from the same bull have been too big for the first time moms to have without pulling.  Death rate of calves has been 50/50.  So to avoid the problem in the spring, we gave shots and will purchased another bull from an outside source.  The heifers will be older and should have an easier time having calves in the fall.  Hated to do it, but it was a considered decision.

Norman has approved an ordinance to allow citizens to have up to 6 hens in their back yards.  My sister is so excited. She is in the process of building a coop for her back yard.

that is tough :( , but way the right decision :thumbsup ....not only are you dealing with a potential 50/50 loss on the calves, but not so good for the heifers too. I've seen my share of black cows at our vets office having c sections with babies that are too far gone and the main point was to save the cow. You might want to consider a black longhorn bull....always low birthweight calves for heifers, and the F1 longhorn crosses can perform as well as anything else in the feedlot...hybrid vigor and all that!

We are running an Angus heifer herd with an Angus bull and using Angus Bulls over our Older Brangus mix herd. We have had no problems in the past ...just this particular bull. The vet gave us info on a good outside source for a new bull. Have heard good reports on longhorn...just not the direction the boys want to go.

I've never found it locally, always ordered it online.  I think Amazon was where I found it cheapest last time.  A gallon jug lasts F.O.R.E.V.E.R.  for me since I use it as a 10% solution.  Wish you were closer, I would just pour a few ounces of mine into a bottle for you!

Well shoot! That's a nice offer and if you were closer I'd be there. If I don't hear of a place before tomorrow I'll order it. I just hate getting packages here. The mailman gives us a 'pick up at post office' slip but then brings the box with him on the truck the next day only to not deliver it again. It's like a giant slapstick comedy routine, only I want my package.

I get it from Amazon...pay with PayPal and have it delivered by ups....not the post office. Usually get it in a few days. If you need it sooner I have a full gallon and will share. Pm me.

I have a silly chicken, Reba, trying to go  broody, is she out of her mind, we are heading into winter!!!!

With the unusually warm fall...I have several too. A Delaware bantam and a Black Wyandotte. I'm hatching chicks I'm going to give them this week. If they take them they will be in indoor pens in the henhouse for a week then allowed to free range. If not, I have a big brooder.

I'm waiting to see if she is serious, but she is an intense broody, so pretty sure she will be, she is one fierce momma too. If she is serious, guess I will give her some eggs.

Hey everyone I've been gone for a while but I have a problem I think I have too many roosters in my flock I have 6 and 25 hens they have just started fighting never have before so I need more hens or might have to sell some roos any advice ???? my chickens are free range and roost together in house at night
