***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Moved Peepers from the incubator to the brooder and it is slipping into a warm spot in the middle of the pile from the left. Tiny thing is sure strong willed for such a tiny body. The pile has shifted 3 times already. Peepers is cheeping loudly for a spot. The other chicks are Bantam and LF
Peepers is out of a Black Mottled Cock over a Black hen...must be some hidden genetics in the Serama parents.

Those of you going to the Shawnee Show, there is a raffle set up in the middle area that will run after lunch. There are always great items on the tables. You purchase tickets during the day and drop them in the sack numbered like the item. The raffle goes quickly. Local store owners and individuals donate items for the raffle....some chicken related and some not.
Our own DGibson has helped the Show committee for many, many years and helps run the ticket table.
Go by and visit with this great cocker...he is a sweet corker too.

Hi everyone! I live in Northeast Oklahoma and am new to the chicken world. I just wanted opinions on the best egg laying chickens for my area. Any advice, tips or pre cautions are much appreciated.

Does anyone know where to find poultry bands for day old bantams? Think there will be any at the shawnee show?

Toe punch works best for day old, then you can record matings based on the toe punch, band the good ones cull the rest. Take extensive notes on each mating as to culls and you will know what to duplicate or not do again.
I can e-mail you a copy in excel or word, but this is what I use for breeding records.

That would be of the Leghorns laying white eggs.
From there you have egg size, and color, from various breeds.
