Where did the black come from lol none of my bantums are black

I get Black when I breed a Columbian with a Blue.

I'm so tired of canning and the smell of boiling meat in the house! I finally got the last of the bones made into broth from the freezer incident. 54 pints of meat (rabbit and chickens) and 39 quarts of broth.

Tripped over a backpack in my classroom today. I now have 6 stitches under my lip and a carpet burn on my arm. Ugh!!!

So sorry! Hope it heals quickly!

I worked on my red white and blue denim quilt a little more before the weekend. Then stood up and realized I pieced the center 12" strip upside down. <sigh>. I keep telling myself it won't matter- but in my heart it is going to bug me to death. So the unstitcher and I are back together again. It's a love/hate relationship.

I so understand, hate hate hate unstitching, but would have HAD to unstitch it too.

I have 1 cochin that has been sitting on the nest for about a week. Now I have another cochin, who is higher in the pecking order, that is acting like she wants to go broody too. Which is fine because I plan on giving them chicks from the eggs I have due in a week. My problem is the higher ranking cochin wants the other hens eggs. I tried giving her a couple of her own and she showed interest in them then proceeded to go back to the other nest and kick the other hen off and nestle down. She does this every day but she never fully commits to staying there here in a little while the smaller cochin will be back on her eggs. Guess I just don't understand how ladies can be such bullies sometimes lol.

You'll have to put the less aggressive hen in her own cage or coop for the duration. It's the only way if you want to keep both broodies. Once they hatch and bond with their chicks they should be able to go back together again.
