Cogburn has another temporary home for now. A lovely lady at Farmers Grain (Edmond) has him - she raises lots of chickens in Hooker and she has lots of young RIR hens to find homes for. So now she has a handsome rooster to go with them. Thanks, Kathleen and Judy for your understanding support of our fledgling chicken experience.

At the vet with my puppy. She's very sick. Hasn't been eating & can't even keep water down.

To top that off, my old retired pit game cock got out of his pen & got tore up.

he's still alive so far. He was trying to bite me when I picked him up to clean him off. Hoping thats a good sign.

& she has bad infestation of hook worms. All of which can be treated. She's already showing improvement after leaving vets office. Hope we caught it in time & she can recover. She's a great pup. Responds well to verbal corrections & hasn't messed with the chickens since she was brought to my house. She was dumped at work & my bf rescued her. I believe she's a great pyr cross.

Robin, I'm in that boat, too. I can't part with the Silkie boys. I'm just going to make a bachelor pen for them. This is the only home they know and they're so sweet...I don't have the heart to get rid of them. They can have a dorm room just for boys.

Michael, I love the subject of dogs. I used to do Pyrenees rescue (& any livestock guardian dog rescue really). I had 6 Pyrs at one time all from the same lines in Colorado in the 90's. They all got old or got cancer and died
sad.png
I've had a couple Akbash and have helped transport hundreds of dogs over the past 20 yrs for rescue. I wish I had my Pyrenees back. Most the dogs I've got now would eat my chickens and look for more no matter how much "training" they got. I just use a lot of hot wire and chain link.

You cant beat a pur pyrenees but they are hard to find lot's of folk's say they have thim but all iv seen around hear are cross's . Would like to get a good one the last good dog i had would eat dead bird's but that was it . He was a good dog..
