kenny i ship eggs all over the country and have verry high hatch rates on shiped eggs if they are packed and shiped RIGHT this year alone i have shiped over 200 + boxes of eggs with only 1 egg craked in shiping and i always injoy reading others sucses storys with eggs from me here are a few of theI was wondering if any of y'all buy hatching eggs through the mail, and if so do have very good success with them. Every time I've ordered eggs they've arrived scrambled so bad some of the yolks are busted. I've only been able to hatch 3 outta 64 eggs, so I've givin up I usually have atleast 90% hatch rate with my own eggs. Anyone have any suggestions.
Sounds like you sure have alot better success than I do, not sure what's going on all mine but one order was packaged very well unless the eggs just weren't viable to begin with. Because I have great success with my own eggs so it's not me or my incubator.sorry for the links and the reply botton i whanted to coppy and past the texted only not a link to my Ebay inbox![]()
Congrats! Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time.Great Craigslist score today. Answered an ad for free chickens. It said the only catch was you had to take all ten. I figured most were either in molt or rooster worn. What I got was a roo and 9 hens of beautiful black austrolops! None are in molt but in fine feather! All just as pretty as button! With two sacks of feed,a bag of oyster shell and a bag of grit! I had intended to get them to use as sale birds for tradeing. I think I will be hanging onto these. They would cost a bundle to buy at the sale!Happy Happy Happy!Loks liek I am going to have to build a bigger coop ,fast!lol
x2 Joe is the expert in packing- i have had good hatches from his eggs- i have had shipped eggs where only 1 out of a dozen hatch, then the last ones, 9 eggs and 6 hatched- so i tend toget them from folks here on BYC, and people i know-did you let them 'rest' point down 24 hours before setting them?so from the expereance that i have had with shiped eggs and shipping eggs the hatchabilaty/vitality of the eggs after being shiped has alot to do with how well the eggs where packed prior to shiping
