***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I had tried them for years before getting those established. It can work chose your location well, and I highly recommend the Starks ones, they have a garauntee too. My gma put hers in a walk way between the house and garage lots of shade, and hers were crazy invasive and huge.

Where did you get your berry plants? Morning sun and afternoon shade? I want raspberries so bad. I have the seed catalog all marked up. Need to get my flats set up. This will be the first year I have started everything from seed. I am using all heirloom so that i can save seeds from the plants.

Bator is in lockdown and I have the next batch ready for it to be vacated.

I got mine from Stark Bros. they have at least two they advertise as being especially for southern areas, those are the two I got (needed two varieties for cross poll)

Kurtis and Kurt are out raccoon hunting. We have had one stalking pens for almost a week now. The birds just started fussing tonight so we know it is back.

Have eggs that should hatch by Monday. I really hope they hatch tomorrow I am so ready to have chicks in the house again. Of course by May I will be ready to be done with babies lol.

not mine, a facebook friend rescued her from a feedstore- she said they were selling them for snake food?? my guess is a bad breeding source... but little Ariel is one spoiled chick

I am getting some mixed responses for this one so I thought you guys could chime in and help me decide. When is a good time to stop feeding your chicks crumbles? Some say never and some say when they are feathered. Just recently they started dumping their feeder. They are still inside in a rabbit hutch. I do let them out when we have a nice day.

On the chick feed are you talking about chick starter or switching from crumbles to pellets?
On chick feed some will say until at least 16wks old others will say when they are no longer needing supplemental heat. I stop feeding chick starter once I integrate them in with my main flock, so each time it is different.
To transition to crumbles to pellets-- honestly took me over a yr. I kept thinking those big pellets must be hard to eat. However I began watching some of the huge things my birds would forage & gooble down & realized I was just silly thinking they couldn't handle pellets. Switching to pellets keeps my coop cleaner too.
Hope that answered the question a little.
