***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We were sitting in the back next to the table that they give you your auction ticket. I don't want the roos since I don't want silkie babies, I just want hens. I have 10 chicks an if some/all turn out to be roos they will go also. I just don't want roos right now, I just want to get eggs an love on my baby girls.

I am hoping that I can get the roos a home before this weekend, we are willing to eat the money we spent so that they can get a home.

Hearts 4, LOL! Not AT you, but with you. I'd already answered your PM before reading this.

Carl, I need a bit of help. I've been asked to give a presentation at a conference in mid-March on preparing my chickens for shows. Since mine are silkies and most of the other conferees are either guinea fowl owners or have other types of chickens, I need a little information on preparing OTHER poultry for shows. I can give a pretty good presentation on silkies, but I think it is a LOT more involved than for other types of poultry. Would you (and/or anyone else who shows poultry) let me know step by step how you do it, including products you use? You could either do it by on this forum or by PM. It may be others here want to know also. I would appreciate it greatly.
I will write up the process we go through enclusive of some of the feed additives used but not all ( I am not giving up my final trick) I will post here and if would like I can send you an e-mail with it in MS word format.
I assume you want from conditioning, to final show day? or just the clean up process? I will agree it is considerably different for a game breed than the softer bodied and feathered birds.

Amy, Nevermind the call, I spoke with Nanakat, she is bringing me some LF Cochin eggs I will set with my setting this week and they are yours when they hatch. This way we know you will get some, then you and Nankat can still get together for you to try hatching a few.

i fully understand that- roo's can complicate things a bit- if we can get them taxied to muskogee, i'd take them- its just getting them here

i adore my birds- they helped me quit smoking too- i spend as much on feed a month as i did smoking, and i am outside working with them, and just cuddling them...:)

They look like roos

I put up pics if anyone wants to look at them and weight in. They don't have the puffball look on their heads. They have the hair slicked back look. And yes, that was my baby girl in the pink jacket. She was so wanting the brown silkies they showed before the ones hubby got. She's upset cus she wants a girl. She said "I told you to get me the brown ones, you never listen dad." lol Hubby had to concede defeat an admit that he was wrong this time. She was wanting to take home all the birds, lol she's an animal lover.

artsyrobin, we would drive them up there if you would really want them. I don't want them to suffer. I want them to be with a family that likes roos, and to honest right now that's not us. Maybe down the road but not right now. They are sweet, especially the white one, it fell asleep in my lap last night. It's just not gona happen with us an roos right now.
