No auction in Newcastle this weekeng - school function.I am trying to catch up but still have 8 pages of posts to read, not sure I will get caught up. We are definatly moving so we made a list of what we will move to town. I tried calling the city 3 times and every time left a message for the person who is in charge of "animal control" to call me back and nothing. But after driving around town there is a person across the street and over 2 houses that has chickens, two people with horses in their yards and one with 6-8 goats so we are taking the kids birds and a few laying hens that are special to us. The kids are okay with it now that they can keep some of their birds and Jackson the 8 year old is kind of excited to make a bit of money from selling some of his bantam buff brahmas. LOL Once we get moved and settled in the house in town we will start our search for land again. I want to find 5-10 acres we don't need alot but at the same time I want enough land I can have a garden and our birds. This years garden will be a container garden since we won't have room for chickens, 2 dogs and a regular garden. Also if anyone wants a good dog we have one that can not move to town with us. We are already taking 2 of the 4 dogs with us. We gave one away (and the darn thing found his way home a week later) and still have the other to place. He is part Great Pyreness and part traveling salesman. He is great with our chickens (basically ignores them) but not sure about other animals since he isn't around anything other than dogs, cats and chickens.
I miss getting on here and hopefully once we are moved and settled I can get back to reading everyday. I miss going to the auctions but chances are I will be taking birds to the auction this next weekend so maybe can catch up some then.
