Was able to work in the garden cleaning beds. The layers chickens were out free ranging and sure wanted In the garden and the breeder pens were jealous of the free rangers until I took green weeds from the garden to their pens. The clucking and scratching going on was sure fun to watch.

Earlier today I moved 22 two week old chicks from the brooder to the floor pen in the brooder room. Half of them were Cochin. They were a little timid...for about a New York minute...and were soon running back and forth trying to take off. Chicken watching is so much better than tv.

Hatching this week are more CW and BCW and Cochin....thanks to Carl. At home the eggs in my incubator are due on the 16th and on April 1.

Sure are some cute chicks being posted.
Hope you get better soon Christina.

I got to work in my flower beds too, and cleaned some pens. I love being outside, rather scoop chicken poop than mop the kitchen floor.

I have some Mille Fleur and Black/Lavender Cochins under some broodies that should be hatching this week, can't wait!
I have a wellie on a batch due to hatch March 16th.
Mix of wellsummer roo and all the free range hens, should be an interesting mix!
And a Buff orpington hen whose eggs should be hatching on the 23rd
