***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I am feeling much better thankfully, was able to eat something besides soup today. Also got cleared from the surgeon to do anything except drink alchol.
We are working on rehabbing a new chick. It hatched & managed to dry with its back stuck on the wire hatching tray. We peeled him off the wire & cleaned him up. He is unable to stay on his feet & keeps trying to lay on his back. We braced him so he is forced to be upright. Hopefully tomorrow he will show improvement.

Taron is in love with her new guinea pig. We went to petsmart & she wanted to buy it every accessory they sold. When we got home she asked him what he had done all day & told him after she checked the animals she would be back to tell him all about her day. The poor girl must be the only child in the entire world that didn't have an inside pet. DH has high hopes that the love will wear off & we can let the guinea pig go.

Nana are you going to try & hatch some geese? If we had a real pond I would love to have some geese. Ducks are enough to clean after for me.

Christina, glad to hear you are feeling better. I have a chick that was spraddle legged and taped its legs until it could stand up. Now I will end up culling because the chick stands on one foot and uses the other minimally. Half the time it stands with the one foot and the other is held up in the air. As for hatching geese, Ninya had a slipped tendon as a gosling. We don't know if it was genetic or if it was the way she was cared of before we got her. Therefore, I don't think it wise to possible pass it on to babies. They are a noisy breed too.

This is Chester. He is the son of the mean BR LF Cochin I got from Ksane last year. Looks like he diid his job with my Lemon Blue Hen. May have to build a pen for him and my 2 LB hens.

Taron came home with a new pet today. Pic is with my phone, but figured if doodle was lurking he might enjoy this.

I LOVE guinea pigs!!!! My kids had them and I even had them just a couple of years ago. Ended up giving it to my daughter and her girls

Well tried something new to do with all those eggshells ... these are little bitty teeny tiny pieces of eggshell. I'm doing another one with a chicken on it.

ok i am here .i am just being sensatise about the backyard chickens and their different breed.i am just puting things together.still for eggs at a best rate .how can i store a very large amount of eggs for hatching.
