Chickens will eat styrofoam EVERY chance they get, they love the stuff. I've haven't seen any ill effects when my girls get into it though.

If the red sexlink is the chick your asking about its a pullet. The cockerals are not that red.

I think we're going to get to go to POOPS after all. Brother from China will be in Texas, a three-day event for us requiring someone to take care of our animals. We get to see him in Texas at least three times a year, he was here (in Texas and HERE) in December, will be back in September, and we're going to try to go see him in China later on. I really need to sell some silkies and especially showgirls, and a one-day trip would be much easier on us! I have some really nice silkies and showgirls in several colors. Was feeling sad about missing my POOPS friends!

Are you, by chance, the silkie/showgirl breeder that another BYC referred to you as? I have a splash silkie pullet, and I would love to find a splash silkie suitor for her. I will probably be at the poops event, if possible. Please PM if you see this post, as I do not frequent this thread.

I just put my very first batch of hatching eggs in the incubator. 12 Spitzhauben, 4 Mottled Japanese bantams and 12 LF Cochin eggs that muesky brought to the Newcastle auction on Saturday. Wish me luck. I hope I don't screw them up. Can't wait to meet more of you fine folks at POOPS.
