I got this at the sand springs plant/herb festival. I want to put it in my coop once its built but now I'm wondering if the boxes are too small for the large fowl hens I'll be getting.

that is cute will have to paint my nest box now, lol If i can get it fixed my MIL gave it to me they are no longer doing chickens so hopefuly it is not to bad and i can get some use out of it.


not sure how to fix the two openings that are rust out yet.

I was having a hard time with pasty butts on my Silkies, but last night I cleaned them off good, but a triple antibiotic on their little butts and some ACV in their water! Woke up this morning and everyone was doing great! Thank goodness!

That would be awesome! Two more weeks and I can start making chicken plans.

The four babies were up and talking this morning. They were standing in their food dish, so I suspect they sampled a few pieces. To anyone who discovers chicks they think are gonners... try a heat lamp for a few hours. Don't give up before you try to warm them.

Ohhhhh, is this statment ever true....... I so can relate to this.. I am a retired rescue and rehabber of bunnies, pinkies, juveniles and adults. First to do if coo,l heating pad immediately.
the public rescuer will bring me the bunny, usually a little fella, laying flat and cool to the touch, and they would say, I THINK HE IS HUNGRY........... warm them first, It always amazed me that persons had no clue as to what to do. Or, the bunny was obviously dead and they thought he was sleeping.
and you are so right,,,,, if they were warm and dead they were dead.

I keep telling you guys how much of a chicken my cat is, well today she came running to Oreo's treat call. I sure hope Oreo stays smarter then her and doesn't start "treating" her like a chicken!!!! lol
