Good morning OKIES.
Yesterday was a beautiful day! One of our daughter came with her family for Mom's day and the two little boys got to "feed the chickens ". Meaning toss them some scratch and did a little fishing...meaning we baited lots of hooks for perch and bass and the took a ride around the property on quad runner and Ranger....wore the adults out.
Today we are sorting out 25 pairs and a bull to take to one of our leases. Part of the herd will be put with the registered Angus bull until bred and ready to go to the other pastures we own. Those without calves yet will go in another pasture. Then, we have some young heifers that are ready to be covered, so they get another pasture with a bull. That leaves the young heifers not ready to breed in another pasture. so lots of lists to work from and a busy day ahead.

Everybody, have a great day.

This explains my situation with my Golden Cuckoo Roo.....

My little brother and his "prized" Golden Cuckoo's relationship is kinda like this.....

Yet........... I'm the one who feed the chickens in this household... and this is the only way i know this roo to be....

"COME AT ME BRO!!!!!!!!!"

Me and my brother have different opinions on what should happen to it in the future...

My brother's future plans with his roo look something like this...

My future plans with this roo...

We'll see where this goes....

Lol! x2

Finally my silkie boy and his new girl are talking to each other in the yard and sharing grains and green tidbits with one another. My boy seems to be kind of like a 13 year old boy who isn't quite sure what to do with a girl even though he's over a year old. But I think he's getting the hang of it. They aren't fighting, which is good but until today have just been sort of walking around one another in the yard ... except for the day when my boy showed the girl where the asparagus bed was and they ate all the tops they could reach ... sigh. Chickens give teamwork a bad name.

The boys are rinsing out the trailers after we moved the 25 pairs and bull to the pasture in Paden. It took several hours of sorting and loading. Two trips with 3 trailers each trip....git 'er done! I'm relaxing before fixing dinner....actually, I fell asleep and slept for a hour....lol
