***OKIES in the BYC III ***

So far DH has not exhibited any allergy symptoms when in contact with the kittens. Cat's aren't on his list of irritants, so I'm hoping he does not develop an allergy. Therese is enamored with him. She has adopted him.

Looks like good weather today. I need to mow and weed. Free rangers are going to have to wait to be let out. They get so anxious, wanting crickets, especially, that I worry they will be hurt if they follow the mower too closely. I'll turn the yard into cricket salad, and then I can let the first group out.
My husband is allergic to cats, but he LOVES them we have found he can tolerate them much easier w/ much less s/sx if they lived w/ us from very young kittens.

my mom has always been allergic to cats, didn't ever matter the age. she just has to keep them away from her face until she gets used to them. she also found out that its the spit people are allergic to, because thats how cats clean themselves. i am not sure if that spit thing holds any merit or not, i just know it is what she has always told me.

Yes it is the dander, which basically is the dried saliva, but there is a specific protien in the saliva that causes the reaction.

my chickens have been laying on the ground because i didn't have a nest box now i do will i have to do any thing special to get them to use the nest box instead of the ground?

or even one of their own eggs, seems they see that and its set for them

fly predators- i also use them but think maybe i need to increase the amount- we have been inundated again

For flies, I hang those sticky tapes in the pens and spray the roosts and walls with PineSol. Open ventilation helps As flies don't like breezes. Sevin dust 5% in the dust bath box and the nest boxes helps too.
