i have one out in the run but she wont got out there she stays in the coup all day. i got her in april and just now took her out of quarantine and she has not quite found her niche in the flock.

Does anyone have any experience with pendulous crop? I could use some help. I have a BCM pullet, she was a spring chick this year, who I have noticed for the last few weeks has a huge pendulous crop. No sour crop, no hard impaction. I know it will get there if I don't fix it. The past 3 or 4 days I have had her caged and measured her about 1/4 C of feed in the AM and PM, and free access to water because it is so hot. Her crop is still pretty baggy and quite full but still soft. Is there a better way to treat her? I'm not sure if using mineral oil would help or not. I do massage it twice a day before I give her feed. I hate leaving her caged all the time but she gorges herself if I don't. What is the likelyhood that her crop muscles can recover fully and she can go back in with the flock? She is still laying regularly, about 5 eggs per week.

Is she on pellets or fermented feed? If on fermented, take her off and only give her pellets free choice for a few days. She is gorging when the feed is offered at am and pm and packing her crop.

If anyone needs a Lavender Americana roo , I have eight about 5-6 months old . Three are from a breeder in Georgia and the other five are from a breeder in Kansas . They are fed well plus free range during the day . Out of both hatches I got one very precious pullet .

I would sell them for 8.00 each .
