***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I have Wheaten Ameraucanas and Blue/Splash Marans. I still love my Cochins best but the Marans sure are sweet.

I have no true breeds anymore. A few of the show birds still hanging around but overall they are just my layers. I'm not sure I will go back to true breeds unless I decide to find a dual purposes bird.

I'm on my way to the swap just south of Tahlequah. I hope to see a lot of okies there. I can never get enough chicken chatter

It's not every Sunday. This is when the guys at Coop Dynasty open their display lot so people can sell birds.

I didn't know TSC had a swap. I know Orscheln's has one each month, but I haven't attended.

Ok so a lot like the TSC & Orscheln's. TSC had one on the 5th but only a couple showed due to the rain. They set up shade/rain tents too.

I won't make it today, we have soccer. I guess if I don't get rid of these two roo's they will just continue to free range.

Good morning guys, sure nice to see sooner!!

On the favorolles, after 2 hatches from different breeders having chicks with problems i decided they weren't a breed for me, i have some little bantams that are beautiful and sweet, just won't be breeding them.

here are a few pics of my girls from MJ i had, if anyone wants beautiful cochins, she is the one with the mille fleurs- awesome birds

i let mama and guineas run for a bit every day, they are fun to watch, so i go back in, only one baby.... mama is acting like nothing is wrong, i panic, hunt all over, go outside thinking maybe one of the adult guineas stole him, no sign, go back into the coop, real quiet, thinking he is in a corner i don't see, nope, so i am standing there trying to figure it out, hear a ting ting ting, notice the feed bowl is upside down, yep.... he was under it ting ing for help! sheesh

have a good day everyone!!

Ok help me, I am on my first cup of coffee. Explain "Not ness SOP NN's" Is the SOP referring to the scaleless?
no Standard of Perfection, just meaning not ness. breeding NN that could be entered into shows (color wise or whatever wise). I like lots of variety of color and patterns and don't have the desire or ability to separate colors and keep several males, and I really like top knots. I want my NN big, w/ few feathers, lots of pretty colors and patterns if they have feathers and maybe hopefully get a few w/o feathers at all. Something recently learned about NN is they don't have body hair so no singeing hair if you pluck for processing.
