***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well at least they'll be able to come here together and will have a buddy in each other. I always feel bad when I introduce just a single bird into one of the groups here. (Well, except a rooster to hens). My Bantam Fav girls are together with my 3 Delaware girls, I took the B Fav boy out and put him in a bachelor yard. That's probably where I'm going to put the 2 Oreo boys. All those girls are really passive and sweet natured, they won't be mean to a couple of Capons :) Glad you kept them safe from chick-napping lol
Rinda-I love that poultry fence! It's going to be perfect for a perimeter fence around my Silkie group. So glad to hear it works good, thank you.
Robin, your new girl is beautiful. Nowhere else would she find someone to spoil her as much as you do. That's one of the coolest colors I've ever seen. I hope you breed lots of that color, Nana.

I took my new Coronation Sussex to show neighbor Jack today and the little pullet fell asleep in my arms again. I am already hooked and have been reading about Sussex for sure want more. Jack said I should have bought more at the auction. I said I don't have anouther pen for a roo. Jack said I can keep them at his place - such a chicken enabler!

I have been on the BYC so much that I have a chicken problem now. It goes along with the "chicken math" I have heard so much about. I just bought some eggs off ebay and I don't even have an incubator. Yikes! My husband is going to have a fit!

I couldn't stop myself! I got 8 splash marans eggs and I am really in over my head with these! I still have to pay for them but they are all mine. I have a feeling I will be posting to get rid of what I don't want out of the bunch when they grow big enough to tell what gender they are. I only want one hen. Oh my gosh what is WRONG with me!?!?!? Anyone near the Tulsa area that has experience with marans eggs that would care to hatch these for me? Let me know the price.

Okay I am back! I hope somebody remembers me. LOL. A lot has happened since I was on here last. I now have three more boys here besides my Shane. They are his biological half brothers. We are now foster parents. They are three months one year and two years old. Shane is six now. We are tired! We put an offer in on a house in Marlow with 10 acres. I will be looking to get chickens again soon if all goes well! We will have two house payments until we sell this house. Scary, but we were stressed trying to show a house with 4 boys in it. Hope everybody has a good night!

Have you had a chance to look at the caponizing thread, it has some pics and lots of great info from several of us who caponize. I will be adding new pics of today's Chinese tools in the next day or two.
I have seen the picture spread with the bungees, really liked it. Looking forward to raising capons in the future. What do you think of the caponizing kit sold by Murray McMurray?

Edited: I'm going to move this question to the caponizing thread so others who are interested can see the answer.

Hey, hi! You went from Shane to 4??? Oh my, you're a brave brave woman :) I always say-sometimes we don't need them but they sure need us. I think it's wonderful you stepped up and took them in. You know where to come when you're ready for chickens ;)

rofl! I'm not near Tulsa and have my incubator full (I'm just as bad). You remind me of a guy on my fish forum years ago. He was SO excited to have found a 300 gal fish tank, he just couldn't pass up the deal, it was such a good deal. He's telling the others, "How am I going to get it through the door of my trailer that won't support a 300 gal tank??" lol
