Trying to read up on what I've missed, but have skipped some for now.

We just got back from China last night, and I've not even been out to visit my chickens yet. Very tired after two weeks of walking probably 5 - 7 hours a day! Great time.

I think I saw a pen of dark colored chickens one day from the high-speed train, but other than that, the only chickens I saw at all were in the markets. This included silkies.

Hope everyone is OK. Have missed being here.
Welcome Back Betsy! Sounds like a fun time even though it was so tiring.

Just had more losses today. 2 silkies and 1 lavender AM. Somehow a coon weaseled his nasty hands through 2 double wrapped bands of chicken wire

sad day.
Ps- if anyone near or around the norman/OKC area is selling any of their flock or hatching eggs... I'm interested. Have too much emptiness in the coop now

Look at my little Zima walking for me!!!!! I love you guys so much! Having such great people to help makes a world of difference.

She still doesn't quite have it, so I'll rebrace her for another day or two and do more chicken physical therapy.

Happiness is a healthy fuzzybutt!

Yeah Zima!!!

Ha agreed. They just happen to be too smart for their own good. I'll be setting some traps up later this week and see what comes after the bait. It's so frustrating bc the ones I lost were SO promising with color and the silkies genetics were on point. They were supposed to be my moms surprise Christmas present when I take them to TN for the holidays. Oh well... Guess I'll find her some more
Hot wire is a good deterrent.

I know what you mean Mike. Before moving out to the country I thought raccoons and opossums were great. Then I lost my entire flock in one night and am now of the opinion that a good coon or possum is a dead one... Just saying!

Isn't the Coweta chicken auction this Friday at 6:00? Shelbydog and I were thinking about going. Anybody else gonna be there?

Sometimes even I am amazed at the sheer level my masochism can reach!!!!! You guys know I'm attempting the Doctor Who quilt squares, well do I start w/ an easy one ............................................ why of course not!!!!!! I start w/ the Citadel on Gallifrey, all 19 sections containing anywhere from 5-12 pieces in each section. (this is for a 12 inch square) Does it stop there, am I content w/ average masochism, NO. You see the city is in a bubble, so I get this bright idea that my city must have the bubble represented in it. So now trying to figure out how to achieve the bubble, then since bubbles are circular they must intersect at and through several individual groups of pieces at just the right spot and angle!!!!!! Since this is paper piecing I am doing this on the back side of the paper and in mirror (reverse) image!!!!!
