Hi Robyn,

Saw Ebony in thefirst picture and my first thought was that she's taking a 'bubble bath'...then did a double take and saw she was surrounded by silkies!

Would it be feasible to raise them in like a 75 g aquarium like button quail?

Hmmm.....what are my chances of finding D'Anver eggs this time of year?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. We use those clear plastic totes and they work just fine. Different sizes for different numbers of chicks, and easy to clean.
Oh, best of luck finding those eggs this time of year, but it could happen.

MJ, glad to hear you are better. Migraines are the pits

Once I passed 50, I haven't had a single migraine...used to keep Imitrex on hand.

Sure am enjoying the hatching news...its a vicarious way of satisfying the chick addiction.

Our own DGibson will be working the registration table at the Shawnee show in December.

Broke ice on all the waterers this morning and added hot water to each. Kept the bird in their pens with plenty of food available.

Wrap up and Keep warm!
First time ever that none of the big flock wanted to free range. Usually they run over me and the dog when open the gate.

they could be aiming for Christmas!

no calf this morning - and the one calved last week is in that zoomy stage - she does not walk, she runs full speed wherever she can go - tail up. At least she is keeping warm that way! I am just hoping that the calving cow sticks to her morning history and does not calve this afternoon in this freezing rain!
Yep, or like last year, New Years Eve in the snow.

The only thing is it'd be hard to reach up in it and clean it out and feed them, etc. unless you put it on the floor or something. I use the clear plastic totes the 1st few wks, too. Then dog crates and the RV bathtub. That RV bathtub is the perfect brooder :)
