***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I need to get out to Muskogee to look at a horse, but I'm not sure yet when I can do it. It might be tomorrow. I have to stop in Coweta to look at some ponies. But I also have to have time to work on this pen, so it might have to wait for next weekend. Guh, too much stuff to do, not enough me!

I'm looking for a horse or pony for my granddaughter for Christmas, if any of you know somebody with one they're selling.

This is the one in Muskogee. Shelbydog says no, but I figured it couldn't hurt to look, especially since I'll be down Coweta to look at this herd of ponies.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Amidst all of the kitchen work - remember the reason why! Family and loved ones. We have many things to be thankful for - our great country, the life of freedom that we are born into, those that love us (family AND friends), and then finally - the yummy food we will be eating.

No no no....lets finish this pen tomorrow so I can give you your chickens and I can get more for myself :)-.

And please someone back me up that a horse coming in to its 2 yr old year is not a good idea for a young child. And those people are absolutely out of there mind to do saddle work on a yearling that is still growing.

Kyz, she's right. That's a really bad match for a child. Maybe look for an older miniature horse. We had a 4 yr old super gentle miniature horse we GAVE away that used to be in pony parties for kids. That's what you should look for. Young untrained horses are dangerous.

Dh's Mom drove up from Texas last night and today we are cooking and taking it across the street to Jack's -

smoked turkey
Mashed potatoes and turkey gravy
cajun dressing with andouie sausage
peas
squash - kabocha,its the sweetest
roast cauliflower
pumpkin pie
pecan pie

What is everybody else eating today?

The minis I'm going to look at in Coweta are party ponies. I just want to look at the horse in Muskogee. My mom raised and broke her own horses and is going to be making the final decision on which ones are for the grandbabies. She's actually already nixed the Muskogee horse, but I just figured if I was going to be out there it wouldn't hurt to look, and it would be a great opportunity to take a chicken to somebody in need! We're going to Chelsea to see a horse/mini combo, five and seven years old, and a five year old paint in Strang, Saturday. And any horse will have to see the vet before we buy it. I'm not going to buy the first one that eats sugar out of my hand, I swear.

Although I do have to struggle against my inner critter-rescue instinct when I think of poor abused, neglected horses that need homes... but this is for a six year old girl, and her safety overrides that instinct.

As a horse trainer NEVER buy a young green horse for a young child. Always turns out bad unless the kid has been riding and being trained prof by a trainer, otherwise it leads to frustration XD

I want to be present on mom's decision making. I want to record it b/c I know it's going to be colorful, full of adjectives, and hilarious.

Dusti met my mom and saw her good side. Her good side still includes much swearing and name-calling.
