***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Here a pic of a mug rug I made this month. I couldn't post it until today since it was part of a swap that was suppose to be secret until your partner opened the mail.
You have quite a talent Kassaundra!

I understand you are a Dr. Who fan, have you ever watched Firefly?

Any other Browncoats among us?

Well, no more duck problems so far. Keeping the goats out of their yard seems to be doing the trick. Not sure what the rambunctious four footed kids were up to, but it's obvious they can't be with the ducks.

Robin - you'll be happy to know that our little silkie girl is brooding some eggs. And boy is she determined about it!! What a great gift she has been. Unfortunately we lost our boy a few weeks ago,
i will have a cockerel or two by then, this first hatch has 2 I am positive, and the next group will have a few too

Quote: well, still flip flopping on his gender, but with those pointy feathers, sure are coming in fast- all i am doing is rinsing his feet and neosporin 2x a day- and @NanaKat he inhaled that hardboiled egg!

So here are a few pics if anyone would like a Splash Marans cockerel to add to their flock. Were only keeping one of these guys. These are the ones I mentioned earlier that I hatched myself. They came from a breeder in Tx. These boys are getting so big that I need to find a home for them asap as the room in their home now is getting cramped as they grow and grow. And grow. They are so sweet! They have been handled since they were hatched. They are away from my outside flock and are only handled with washed clean hands. I DON'T want these guys sick! They are 6 weeks old. I would like to get at least $5 a chick if possible. If you don't want one please pass the word on... Last resort will be taking them to an auction and I never will know what kind of home they will go to at one of those.

Such handsome boys! I LOVE the feathers down the legs and on the feet! These pictures really don't show the coloring very well. I tried to use a can of food to show size comparison but you can't really see it but barely in the second picture on the left...

Sonny update, i did his feet with neosporin twice yesterday and it shows-

Still thinking you have a pullet..

THANK-YOU! That was driving me crazy and they are beautiful!

I have one that does this also. I don't know what it is either. Mine have oyster shell as well.

This reminded me...did someone say that the Newcastle auction is off this weekend?
I talked to Jack who called Scoots and there will be no auction Saturday...

According to what Jack told me is this month they will only have the one from the first weekend, then from February to June they will have one on the first and third Saturday of the month, then come July til December they are going to one auction a month again...

Cute boys!!! Sorry no marans here aside from the wayward hen I have running around here still..

So this doesn't really have anything to do with chickens except I found this website advertisement while I was responding to some of the post for $6 t-shirts.. OMG!!! There are some funny ones and quite a few Dr. Who ones... I am already getting my order together...
