Kass, your close-up pictures are so rich and clear! The Oreo twins are gorgeous! Their sister is, too. I'm actually kind of glad the one is a slip. Because I would love to have some Oreo grandchickies Now I can.

I've heard of this, the buyer or breeder puts their hand through a hole in a box of chicks and you get the first one grabbed. Hence it is chance/straight run even though they are sexable. I think it's a sneaky way to dump cockerels. :-\
Crap is that tonight? I was going to try to make it this month now that I only live 5 minutes away!

You didn't miss much, except two pair of peafowl, one brilliantly colored, one solid white. Oh, and the two Sicilian Buttercup pullets that came home with me.

Do you know the difference between a Northern Fairy Tale and a Southern Fairy Tale? The Northern starts out "Once upon a time..." The Southern start out "Ya'll are not gonna believe this s#*t!"

I hope that last bit doesn't get me into trouble. Sorry if it offend.

Cathie Sue, Coral was there, and I kept begging her to hold my hand down, but she just sat back and smirked evilly as my hand shot up (all of its own volition) when those Buttercups hit the floor. Bad Coral! BAD!

So here are a few pics if anyone would like a Splash Marans cockerel to add to their flock. Were only keeping one of these guys. These are the ones I mentioned earlier that I hatched myself. They came from a breeder in Tx. 

You say they came out of Texas? I just bought 12+ variety maran eggs off eBay from Texas. Could these be the same breeder??

Also hello everyone! I'm new here! I live up near Coffeyville Ks but on the Oklahoma side.

I got an incubator for Christmas and I woke up this morning with 3 pipped eggs!! Super excited as this is my first hatch with an incubator and not a broody hen. I have a flock of barnyard chickens with some maran eggs headed my way Monday. But my passion is peafowl! They are my babies.
