If the bird is gasping and keeping her eyes closed- I've never been able to save one that got to that point.
But I had one almost there that I forced to drink 2-3 tsp of Duramycin water every few hours + 1/2 CC tylan shot twice a day for a few days and I managed to save her. I used a child medicine syringe and stick it down the throat and shoot about 1/2 tsp in, let the bird breath and swallow, and then repeat. If they don't drink they won't get better! Also I rubbed VetRX over her comb, beak, and eyes, and pressed it on the roof of her mouth with a Q-tip (in the choanal slit). I figured it could only help, sort of like how much Vicks vaporub helps to rub on your chest when you're congested. Good luck to your friend!
