Love this weather! Getting winter refugees outside, aimed at no repeat next winter- want to put together some silkie coops and runs that will be snug for them, i may steal some ideas from @TRUE5

just got back in from checking Galahad and the gang- they were carrying on- i go in all of them are at one side of of the coop, crammed together, even those with personality issues... can't see anything, but they kept looking at the pop door, closed and latched- so i ope it and find myself face to face with a possum... !

ok, slam it shut, lock it, tell them its ok, they give me a look like yeah...sure... go back out and apparently possums aren't on buddy's (dog) danger list, he's sound asleep about 3 feet from where it was...!

Yikes!!!!! That's what has killed my chickens several times. They're vicious, evil creatures. I used to actually LIKE them until what they did to my birds.
I'm so glad Ebony couldn't resist JoJo's silver tounge lol Evidently Channing and the adorable little blind boy (named him Braille) are the only Seramas I've got who know how to treat women. The other boys are just too rough.

i the serama manners get better with age- the boy you gave me, Cole, is just happy sitting by the window and watching all the action outside, joe used to do that- the only girl he has shown any interest in is Hannah the frizzle i got from True5, she is just a little larger than him- and i think stunted due to a diet off scratch until Cheryl rescued her- what do you get breeding a frizzle and silkied together?

You'd get Sizzles, I think. What breed is Hannah? I don't remember what % hatch out Frizzled, Silkied and Sizzles. I hatched out some Silkie Sizzles last fall. Out of 9 chicks only 1 is a Sizzle (a Blue Partridge!) and 1 is a Frizzle who is black and red, real pretty.

Coral, I got the powder and instructions today, thank you! I'm scared and excited both about learning to caponize. So scared of losing to ones I bring with. The Cochin/Orloff boys look so dang big and they're just at 5 months. I hope they're not too big.
I've got the Keurig coffee maker and the individual little coffees for it. Can't wait! I've been thinking all along the 16th was a Saturday. But it's a Sunday, correct?
