***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@true5 I hope you're referencing me! Two hens, $11.00 apiece? If I were in town today I would be at your door already! PM me your address so we can work out the details.

Lord D will be SO happy!!!!! :clap

I have a friend who hunts for morels as well. I never heard of them until I came to Oklahoma... actually never heard of them until a few years ago. I have seen those big brown ones you have. I just pass them by. I'm not much of a mushroom person.
We just sowed our seeds in our garden. We have about 3 cottontails running around our yard. They will be coyote food if I get close enough to them. They only come out at certain times. They seem to be really doubling in numbers.

I have a situation going on that I am thinking of starting over only with SFH and a few that lay only a colored egg. I have the SFH that are already growing, so I guess I can just add on to them. So, I know someone said something about the Dorking's I got at the auction. I have the two girls and I haven't had them long. They seem to be just fine and I haven't had any health issues. I just think I will sell them for what we paid if you want them. $11 each. They haven't laid an egg for me yet, but they haven't been here long enough for me to say that they wont. So if you want them, let me know and we can set up a time and place to meet. I also have my LF blue Cochin hen. I hate to part with her!! She is SO sweet! I will part with her for $40. I know that is a lot but that's what we gave at auction. She's very nosey and is always coming to see me to see what I'm doing when I'm outside. If anyone is interested let me know. I'm just fed up with what is going on here and I am going to downsize all my standard size flock and just start out with my SFHs that I have and go from there.

I know Kyzmette would be interested in the dorkings. I remember the blue cochin hen. I'd buy her if Mitzi changes her mind.

Anybody planning to go to the Coweta sale April 19th? I'm curious to know if they have a lot of birds consigned already. Starting at 3:00 on Saturday rather than 6:00 on Friday night aught to mean an earlier night. I'll have my granddaughters, so I may be tempted to buy a bunny

@true5, 5 days ago, Kyzmette had said that she wanted the dorkings in this post:

@true5 you got Dorkings??? I love Dorkings!!! Let me know if you find out you just don't have enough room for them, because I've been trying to get a couple more girls for a while. This is Lord and Lady Dingwald. He looks so much better than he did when I first brought him home."

Then Mitzi was the first public post about them after you made the offer. In my opinion, Kyzmette would be in line for the dorkings and Ksane for the cochin.

Did you decide to keep the cool colored SFH roo then? That would be a great motivation to focus your energies on just the one breed. I've got three breeding pens going plus my laying flock and I am thinking I need at least two more breeding pens at the very SAME time I am thinking I need to REDUCE!

How are your oldests silkies? Isnt she the one that got them at Shawnee for her birthday? They were beautiful! We are finally getting some eggs from the paints that my daughter also got when we were there.

I saw the most cute adorable baby bunnies at the Newcastle auction- they were small and round and black. Could have been 8 balls without the 8. When he sold them he put one into his shirt pocket and sold the 'pocket' bunnies for 15 or so each!

lmao!!! Only in Oklahoma do we have fist fights over chickens haha!!! After I posted last night that I wanted them I remembered my fellow Dorking lover, Kyz. So I bow to her. And Bardies said Kyz had preclaimed them the other day anyway. Dusti, in order to save myself the hassle of quarrantining and since you and Kyz are close to each other, you take the Cochin girl. I think True is closer to you 2 so that works better.
I'll have to drown my sorrows in the Faverolles chick I got from Dusti :-D

Oh, I'm sure there are other male chicks I could give you to drown your sorrows. LOL

It's all good. I think she was referring to me, but it's hard to remember who you were talking to in these forums.

In that vein, somebody gave me some advice about a teacup; I think it was Coral, but I sure don't remember. Well in this last batch of hatchlings I had one baby that kept leaning to the right for some reason, like the right side of her body had been kverly compressed in the egg. I put a cloth in the bottom of a small rounded teacup and left her in it overnight. The next morning she was just fine!

Thank you SO much! Without the teacup this would have been one of those babies that could never get off her back until she died.

I'm going to get pics of the babies and I'm going to need help. I can't believe I just hatched out 16 chicks. I REALLY can't believe that I don't remember which eggs I put in the bator so I'm not sure what I have. Derp.
