***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I sent u a PM w/ a name and phone # He has quite a few and some that just hatched. I've been told he has really nice birds. I know he just bought a new expensive rooster and is trying to sell the other rooster for $50.00. He said he's trying to breed for darker eggs and trades out his breeding stock when he finds ones that do.

I'm trying to carch up on reading. I don't know how many I have left but I know I want to answer some of the posts I've read

Thanks I will call him!

I have not posted since 2012. I have moved back in with my parents who live in the country and I hope they let me get some chickens again.

Here's a picture of it. It's a long tweezer tool that's wide at the end. In hindsight I don't know how I managed to get any testicles at all out without this thing. Stupid on my part. I've had tools laid out and work table set up for 2 days plus re-read everything. Really weird how my mind completely missed the obvious. Here's the boys immediately after surgery and the tool. I posted the testicles on the caponizing thread. A little hesitant to post it here because some people get offended at the idea of caponizing. The boys did awesome and held very still. They were digging their heads into their food bowls *while I was carrying them and their bowl over to their individual boxes. (They're all together in a 4' x 2' cage now).
(click on the pic to see a closeup of the tool)

oooooo I've got one of those! Saw it I one of these junk drawers! Great use of those postal boxes, I've got to remember to grab some of those too.

Would like to know the ratio of Apple cider vinegar to water .. Quarts, gallons , five gallons...

The best I can do is give you one of the best quotes I've seen on this website, although I don't remember who said it.

Three glugs to three gallons. It ain't rocket science, son! ;)

i was less than 1/2in but it really came down for a little bit, we have been really dry here hope it is not as bad as 20011/2012

Then I can't get too unhappy we didn't get any because we had .2" in the rain gauge this morning from the bit of rain we received last night. At least our area's got some! I keep praying to the good Lord and begging him to open up the heavens and let all of us get adequate rain fall. We bale hay on my mom's fields for her livestock and ours so we truly NEED the rain in more ways than one!
I'll take a picture of my pond tomorrow and post what it looks like now and try to find one from a few years back when it was very full. Give me another drought summer and it's in trouble!

I am way behind, had a slow death of the 7 year old laptop, so had to replace it- grrr rather spend that money on coop stuff

@Ksane my slip- Mr T(trouble), coral has done him twice, and he is still a little roo, it just happens sometimes - galahad doesn't mind him, the girls keep a close eye on him though
