***OKIES in the BYC III ***

My blue cochin roo is 10 weeks old and has bald spots on his back. He had chick fuzz on his back by his tail head but now it is gone. I had him in a seperate cage because I was worried the other chicks were picking on him but I didn't see any blood or injuries. Is this normal? I can dust him with poultry dust again ( I dusted everyone a out a month ago just as a precaution).

Hey, so anyone in my area (Normanish) want this beautiful Roo? He's part of the pair from Bardies (her picture) and since I can't keep him I'm wanting to find him a home. I will pick them up Saturday morning (tentatively) and can drop him off to someone close to Newcastle or Norman. Let me know, he's free if you promise to love him. He would make beautiful babies!
That makes me sad :hit He's so beautiful! I've got 4 bachelor pens of Silkie boys as it is though. Somebody please take him! @okracefan ? Are you still looking for quality Silkies? To anyone debating about him, he's a really nice quality and he's a Porcelain!

Lori, Cochins boys are 1 of the breeds that feather in super slow (a good way to tell which are boys when they haven't grown combs yet). Brahma boys are the same way. They look so pathetic and gangly at that stage, seriously bald. That's probably what's going on. With mites you'll see irritation usually around their butts 1st, seldom would you see anything on their backs. Dusting sure wouldn't hurt though IMO.

I know it. It makes me sad too. If he wasn't so old I would consider caponizing him. I just can't have a crower.

He's so lovely tho, and I just know if I bring him home, even for an hour my middle son is gonna fall in love. The kid loves roosters.

I need lots of good thoughts/ prayers please. I am interviewing for a teaching position that I really really want tommorrow and I have another interview on Wednesday. I really really want the one tommorrow.

I'll be thinking of you and praying for a positive outcome.

I emptied my incubator this morning. Eight of twelve fawn and white Indian runner ducklings hatched. They are a spunky bunch.

Rubber ducky, you're the one.

Very cute! When will they start running? My duckling Goe just started quaking but it sounds like more of a honk. Adorable. And means she's a she indeed!

I'd happily take him and keep him with my silkie girls if I were closer. Sadly I'm about an hour and a half away

Where in OK are you, there might be a way to do a chicken train.

@ksane just sent me a message saying she would take him. (Cause shes super sweet and a softie for roosters :) )Not sure if she would rather someone else take him if they can. I wish I could link her name but that's beyond my Internet skills!

@Ksane and @Adorkable , Mitzi, if you get him, I can deliver/meet you with him as I need to get the incubator back to you. Adorkable, if you can give him girls (and promise to love him - like Ashtree requests), then I bet we can do some kind of train.
