They will lay some, until their ideal clutch size is layed - but I think that they typically go broody after the ideal number has been laid. The eggs that the kids are collecting are mostly from the non broody hens that will take advantage of the periodic absence while the broodies eat, or sometimes will actually sit on top of them to get to the desired nesting spot.I'm sending the husband to Walmart tonight. Nothing's helping so far and the vanilla trees can't hurt to try.
@bardies-excellent idea! If you take the eggs do they go back to laying or just keep laying with the intent to sit?

all the sleepy chickies.
This is Gwen. At least I *hope* it's a Gwen. She's very dominant to the other two....
And little Scooter. Scooter is already the favorite. Even my husband loves Scooter. Scooter may be a boy or girl - if girl then YAY if boy... well then Gwen just better hope she stays a "Gwen" because Scooter stays!
What is this?!? Looks just like one I've been trying to figure out boy or girl on!
