***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Ummm.... I think the Cochins are LF, but I'm going to be honest, I really don't know. I got them from the auction and they SAID they were LF, but you know how that goes. I have the four that are supposed to be lemon blue Cochins, but three look more lemon and one is super blue. I also have this absolutely gorgeous Cochin that is some kind of patchwork blue/gold. I have a blue Silkie. I have maybe three that might be lemon cuckoo Orpingtons that I'm thinking of keeping since Orps are good layers. Then I have another four or five that are mostly black and are one of three things... Marans, Barred Rock, or EE. Oh, and I'm pretty sure there's a couple of my SQ Buff Brahma Bantam in those tubs.

See, the problem is that I was planning on keeping them all, so I just put them in the tubs all together without keeping track of what hatched.

@ashtree are you not going to POOPS? Or is anybody in your area going to POOPS?

Sadly I'm not going to make it to POOPS. :( I don't know about others in my area! I think I'm all mixed up about who is actually in my area :) Id love a lemon, but I'm sure they will find homes easily so I won't be pushy :)

Oh man lemon blue Cochins! @Ksane if you are getting some let me know! I won't make it to poops but I might hafta have you bring a couple back :)
But I'm sure you won't have any trouble placing them @Kyzmette, who doesn't love pretty Cochins?

you mean like....THESE all the sleepy chickies. This is Gwen. At least I *hope* it's a Gwen. She's very dominant to the other two.... And little Scooter. Scooter is already the favorite. Even my husband loves Scooter. Scooter may be a boy or girl - if girl then YAY if boy... well then Gwen just better hope she stays a "Gwen" because Scooter stays!
I guess if Gwen is a gus, you'll just have to get 18 more pellets so you can keep them both. :x

Yea, that's bumblefoot. Me? I would get a sterile scalpel and excise it, use tweezers to get it all out. Then keep it wrapped for a month. That's what I'd do. WOW. You don't mess around. Im thinking about doing this but Im so scared Im going to make it worse or hit something important. Epsom salt soaks will help draw out infection as well as reducing swelling. That's the route I'd go, eventually you're going to have to pull that sucker out, I think. Sorry I botched all my attempts at quoting this. :idunno Not sure Ill ever figure it out.
Epsom salt soaks will reduce swelling and pull the infection out. I'd do those 2-3 times a day, but I do believe eventually you're gonna have to pull that sucker out of there.
4 pullets enjoying the cool breeze and shade
now you've done it...do you sell any pullets? Eta: looking at this picture makes me wonder, how do the boys hold on to mate?

The swelling going down shows it is getting better.  Personally I would use the drawing salve first if it doesn't work you can always cut later.  But I bet w/ the antibiotic tx and drawing it out you may not have to cut at all.

Or that :) It just depends on which way you want to go and what you feel comfortable with. You're not going to make it worse by being conservative.

Jackie and Ashtree-work out the money part with Kyz and I'll bring them back for you if you'd like. I don't think she knows sexes on them yet though.

Not sure Ill ever figure it out.

You can try the drawing salve for a few days, but the cheesy hard gunk (it's a type of pus) never breaks up on its own in my experience. You will end up needing to cut it out. As long as she is eating and drinking and it doesn't seem to bother her too much it doesn't hurt to try the salve first.

Here are the Isbars I can bring to POOPS but only if someone wants them- one blue cockerel and three black pullets, almost to maturity. I misspoke earlier when I said I thought there were 4 pullets. $45 per pullet, $25 for the cockerel, or $140 for the quad. Blue crossed with black will give you blue and black chicks. They lay a large green/olive egg, in good laying season I get about 5 eggs per week from each hen. The parent hens are from The Sheriff (Mary in California), and Jordan Farms lines, and my rooster is from a private breeder.
