***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Update: Went out that afternoon and lo and behold there she was, trying to get into the run. All's well so I guess I don't have to think about coons and possums today.

Whew! Finally got caught up on all the posts! Looks like POOPS was a great success. I wish I could have made it, but between Father's Day and everything else going on around here we were just too busy. Maybe next year!

WHOOOT!!!! Christmas in June!!! I met up with Dusti and just came home with a fabulous blue Ameraucana, nine gorgeous multi-colored guinea keets and two dozen eggs, two beautiful chicken aprons and a chicken diaper and a work of art on a tshirt! That's a darned fine POOPS haul!

Oh, and @Kassaundra I also got this. Only one of the finest and most superb chickie hats in all Chickiedom! @miohippus felt so sorry for me she was merciful. :p

I hope the pullet does well for you. She is going to be a big girl. Several folks ask about her when they saw her in the cage and I had to say, "already sold" more than once.

Of the chickens we have had so far any of them that form a special human bond have been w/ me, but we have a little girl, Gary named Sweetie, she is head over heels in love w/ Gary. No matter where she is if she hears the gate she comes running towards it, waits for Gary to pick her up and carry her to where he is going, she follows him around the yard like a puppy. I am certain she is Baby Girls bio chick. She is going to be on the small side, but has pretty patterning and a pea comb so most likely a green egg layer.

That is awesome. My porcelain OEGB pullet is attached to me I think lol. Anytime I go into the coop she runs to my feet and just stares up at me. She runs off if i try to pick her up but then she comes right back. Today I tried to get them to free range and she stayed under my chair or close by but still wouldn't let me pick her up.

For those of you who took home chicken diapers, here are a few photos of how they work.

First, position the pocket over the vent with the "v" cutout under the tail.
Second, place the overall-looking front on the chicken's tummy.
Third, bring one strap up and over the shoulder, and snap it into place crossing the chicken's back.
Fourth, bring the other strap up and over the shoulder, and snap it into place crossing the chicken's back.
(For display, the straps were not crossed. They should be crossed for a better fit.)

Some people use a paper towel as a liner, and others just rinse the waterproof pocket out after use. I'm still experimenting with this and don't have a preference yet.
