***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Yea, on the way back home last night he informed me that it wasn't a competition  lmao! He says I'm just jealous that he got 2 :-D
I've heard also that they have a tough time in the heat. The lady I got them from had the coolest set up, I'm going to take some ideas from her. She had rotating fans that were really strong also. If it gets too hot or too cold I have no problem with them coming inside. God wouldn't have invented exersize pens if he hadn't intended crazy ole' ladies to bring animals inside their houses :gig
Except Coral seems to have perfected the art of caponizing ones old enough to be sexed. You'll never hear her say it but she's GOOD. And she's careful and precise and takes her time to do it right. The whole 'patience' thing is where I fail.

I feel like that lop is to bunnies what show quality silkies are to chickens; so painfully cute you will never have enough!!! :) (actually if you don't get them fixed in time you might have more than enough!)
Geo is so great. I love that everyone falls in love with her. My husband picked well (he did pick me afterall :lau) I don't see how she's crested tho but I haven't seen her in person in a long while. I won't have a drake anyway so no big deal. Does this same vaulted rule stuff apply to all poultry? @subhanalah

@Kyzmette thank you for the EEs. They are happy and healthy and soooo adorable. And my son named the tiny one Dorothy (this will be the 3rd EE he's named Dorothy-maybe we should learn Dorothy=roo)

@cathiesue I love love love these little chicks! They are so sweet and bouncy. I'm excited to watch them feather out.

@BetsyOK Sorry for all the confusion this morning but so glad we finally met up! I told my husband I wasn't giving up ;) and I love the silkies so much. They're incredible. I'm going to enjoy watching this porcelain feather out. And if it ends up a pullet I'll definitely be interested in a roo next month. Do you have a porcelain pair for sale? Look at me, just brought 13 chicks home and already making plans for more

@artsyrobin I love your new seramas! And those ducks are getting so big so fast. :) too much cuteness.

I couldn't say one way or the other about other crested birds, but this is something that is documented in ducks.

I've never seen what a silkie looks like underneath that crest and skin...perhaps that part is similar for both chickens and ducks, but it's not a lethal gene in chickens.

Before all heck broke loose at work I was able to finish crocheting the final square for my new quilt. Here are the recent pics of what I've done so far.

Quilted star side hasn't changed much from the first pics

Crocheted flower / moms side has changed quite a bit.

Out of focus but you can see the 3 moms squares, the burgundy ca awareness ribbon for MIL and multiple myloma, red butterfly for mom and stroke/heart disease, and purple broken heart for gma and alzhiemers.

It's name is "Moms garden under the stars"

I just learned something new about Oklahoma history.
The first group to donate for the Memorial downtown of the '95 tragedy was the Muslim community

Also, the first nation to recognize America as her own sovereign nation was the Sultan of Morocco (a Muslim Nation).

If I have any of the details wrong, please let me know, I am recalling these things from memory and we all know human memory ain't all it's cracked up to be. Hahaha.

I would be very proud to be Muslin :)
I remember reading before about different major inventions that were invented by minorities but they didn't get credit for them, white people did. I never thought that was fair and maybe different cultures & ways of living should be appreciated and talked about more than they are.

@ksane Dennis Hopper looks just like the Velveteen Rabbit! Toooooo adorable!

@ashtree I will keep my fingers crossed that three time's the charm on Dorothy. ;)

I think differences and cultures should be valued, appreciated and learned from, not feared, vilified and hated.
