I've been really sick with pneumonia this week so am far behind in reading. I've got 2 roosters that are my top favorites and I lost one of them this weekend. Every time that happens I re prioritize. So while I was laying there too sick to move that's what I was doing. I swore I'd come out and sit with the Pigeons for just 15 minutes and here I am an hour later still watching them.
Part of the pneumonia was surely aggravated by all the birds I've got *inside so I'm going to do what I can to get them placed &/or outside, like hanging cages in pens, etc. Then in the winter The 2 decks are roofed and they'll be insulated and heated.
I've seriously got way too many Seramas inside. Channing & his hen are going to have to be the only ones inside.

Feel better @Ksane !!

Freaked the quarantine chickens out last night. I clipped their wings to get ready for some outdoor time and changed them to a large plastic tote instead of the dog crate (much much better!) but, I have to take the top completely off to get chickens in (it's just a baby gate sat on top for air) and NO ONE WOULD STAY IN. There are 2 of them, and I only have two hands and they are NOT TAME. They got a taste of freedom and I felt like I was playing whack-a-mole. Scoop up tiny Flower, set her in, block Beauty from getting out. Grab Flower again. STOP IT BEAUTY. *tries to grab gate* NO BAD BIRDS. *squawk* *flap*

Ksane, sorry to hear that you are "under the weather" and hope you get to feeling better soon! Sitting with the birds is a restful, activity. Get a little sunshine too!

We have chicks hatching today...some of the last Wyandotte eggs collected and then have a hatch of Serama due on Aug 1. Should give me time to really clean that incubator and get ready to begin hatching quail eggs. Four broody hens are sitting on eggs in the brooder room Three of those should begin hatching on the 30th....will give those hens the chicks hatching now to raise with their own chicks. Then there are two small batches of banty eggs left.
Will clean the back bedroom of egg turners and incubators and just have the hatcher and one incubator and one egg turner going....bet my electric bill gets better!
Hubby had two days of really bad nausea with the chemo for the first round. Starts round two today.
He ordered another semi load of screenings for the driveway and it was delivered this morning....guess I'll begin spreading that while they move hay.

Oh no Mitzi! I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! I was wondering why it was so quiet on the boards...

And before you go thinking that was meant in a bad way, I was really missing your posts. :(

Feel better fast!
