***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Next weekend works, or an evening is possible. Let me know what you work out with cathiesue.
OK, Im exhausted after this weekend and my brains not really working but Ill get in touch with her when I can make sense of my calendar, definitely within a few days. Thank you again for vent sexing her, I am excited, just exhausted tonight.

So nice to meet @NanaKat today. I absolutely love this funny pair! Were keeping them in a small A-frame until they get used to us. Hoping the pullet warms up to us soon. Is she laying yet? I meant to ask but forgot. The drive was harder than usual for me. Getting lost 4 times was a lot, even for me. I love those set ups, especially the coops in the cochin/wynadotte runs. And my oh my, Big Blue was BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Thats the biggest boy Ive ever seen. I love that you have a Big Blue and Arlo has a Little Blue. Thanks again for the pair and for showing us around your lovely place, I wish I could have stayed longer to check out the gardens but I just knew I was gonna come home to a list of things to do and I know you were busy as well. And I came home to a pretty large list, but also a husband that put the finishing touches on two of our city coops that we were making more secure.

So maybe Ill leave more often. Ha!

@artsyrobin I hope you heal up fast. I too have discovered shorts and yard work do not mix. But does that stop me??? No, not often enough.

Hehe @ashtree if you like big birds take a look at these Langshans. Mitzi is already in love with Goliath the blue boy. ;) She saw him on my facebook page. If you count the 2x4 welded wire behind him he is about 28 inches tall at just under 1 year. They are SLOW to maturity so he won't be full grown until 18-20 months, at which time I would expect him to be nearing 3 ft tall!

The white hen is a laying Sapphire (Cream Legbar X white Leghorn), and she is completely dwarfed by Thunderfoot, the black Langshan roo.

Wow! That's incredible. How much do the boys weigh full grown? Are langshans always that large? I'm floored. That's a big boy. What's their temperment like? And that certainly looks like a boy mitzi would love ;)

They are AMAZING gentle giants, very timid actually. I haven't weighed him recently but back in June he was nearly 8 lbs. They top out at 11-12 lbs.

I don't know, I've never had Jersey Giants. But I sure do love these Langshans! They lay a large pinkish-brownish egg. Not great layers, I'd say 3 eggs per week. But they would make great table birds and they are so sweet!

You all just back away from my rooster

I think I had quite a bit to say about him the day we were at Rinda's house for the capon clinic, I'm sure he was the one I saw then. Made my jaw drop.
He's amazing for sure. But then I look at this 9 mo old boy I got from @NanaKat last weekend and I'm plenty satisfied and proud to have a big blue boy of my own.
