Long time no "see" to you all!

Missing everyone here, all the pics, stories and such.

Life threw me a real curve ball this summer and I was diagnosed with "Head & Neck" cancer. My insurance isn't contracted with the CTCA facility in Tulsa, so I'm in Arizona!

What a summer it has been! I am missing my birds soooo much, but hubby has reported that my April flock has now joined the March girls and are laying. Roughly 14-16 eggs a day!! Wow! He is still getting pullet sized eggs and I suspect it is from the Light Brahmas, but can't be sure!

I hope you're all enjoying Oklahoma's fall weather. It is still reaching 100 here and I HATE the lack of color!!! No tree's, no grass and everything is tan .....boring!!

And so you know, my treatment is harsh, radiation and chemo for seven weeks, to which four are behind me. The prognosis is good, but they don't call it "Seven Weeks if Hell" for nothing!

Enjoy your critters and places for me and prayers for strength would be greatly appreciated!!

Bev

Still getting a number of items off the "to do" list before surgery Monday.
Here are the latest pictures of the crate coops. Still need to put the door on this one and add another roost bar inside. The sun will heat up the roll roofing and it will lay down in the morning. Moved on into the Wyandotte pen and this one will go in the juvenile Buckeye pen.

Bev, it is good to hear from you and also to hear the promising news on your treatment. Definitely will be sending prayers your way for not only strength but also for complete healing. We need you back in the fold here in Okie land.

@Yardbirdmom Will be sending good thoughts your way. That must have made your head spin coming to terms with it all. I've wondered about you many times. The 4 L Brahma girls I got from you are doing wonderful, they're a hoot :D I lost several of my younger ones in another pen due to some respiratory thing. But all the ones in the yard with the Brahma girls (and them also) got through it without so much as a sniffle.

@NanaKat Those coops are SO cool! I haven't called that place yet. I can't seem to find enough energy and hours to get things done. I have quite a few ideas what to use them for and need to get to calling them before they sell out.
Good luck with your surgery. Fingers are crossed for everything tomgo as uneventful as possible.

@artsyrobin, I meant to tell you-that "Raining Roosters" video was hilarious :lau I had to do quite a few double takes because that person had a bunch of roosters that looked just like mine! I kept thinking it was some sort of joke and someone had made a video of my boys lol

Yardbirdmom, sorry to hear of your "eventful" summer. So glad to read that your prognosis is good. We all know survivors, and are pulling for you.

NanaKat, sending you thoughts and prayers as you go through surgery. You inspire us all with your energy, accomplishments, wisdom and encouragment.
