***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I thought I had responded earlier, but I don't see it, so I'll try again.

@ashtree, Ally was just fine. We had just gotten there. Funny, I got a repeat of your texts today! It may have been my phone messing up! I love the names you gave the girls.

@kelielliott came by today and picked up some hatching eggs. We talked a lot of chicken talk, and she helped me open and unwrap my box of 12 silkie eggs that arrived in the mail. I love meeting people from here in person. It's always enjoyable and helps me keep track of people on here!

My silkie eggs arrived intact and in great number and variety-a dozen eggs in 8 colors! Blue, Splash, White, Red, Porcelain, Partridge, Buff, and Gray...YAY! I maneuvered them all into my Brinsea mini, upright in cardboard. I'll start them off that way and then lay them down tomorrow for turning. FYI-eBay user "divertracy" was awesome to buy from--great communication, speedy delivery, well-packed eggs. No complaints!

I do feel like I'm pressing my luck with the boy/girl ratio I've enjoyed lately. Out of the last 11 living eggs/chicks, only 2 boys. Oh well. I'm pressing it.

Thanks for letting me help unbox! It was like Christmas! So nice to meet you!

It's been a bad day, lost our kitty Nabu, suddenly and unexpectedly, he was only 9 months old. I think he got into poison. Went from a healthy young cat to dead in 2 days.

We buried him w/ a can of whipped cream.

i am so sorry Kass!!

well foo..a couple of weeks ago i had three of young birds tucking there heads in so i put them in my sick cage and gave them corid one of them could barely hold it head up when i was caring it. it and one other died the other one seemed to improve then 3 days ago i notice another young bird acting funny so i put it in the sick cage with the recovering bird and and more corid to the water it seems better but the recovering one is now barley able to stand and cant hold up it head so did i poison it with the corid or is something else going on? I didn't think i would hurt her or i would have keep them separated.

This one and one that died i hatched and an egg exploded in the incubator with it could that be part of the problem? The other one that died though was an EE that i bought a POOPS so idk.
my understanding the symtoms of cocci are lethargy, wasting away- have you wormed them? i am guessing, coordination issues would be vitamin deficiencies- can't give vitamins while on corrid, so i'd stop that- and get them on nutridrench,

He was a beauty. May have lost a fight with an older Tom. One bite and your out.

Not a mark on him or hair out of place. Only s/sx was he vomited x2 yesterday, day before just fine. I thought he had worms so went to the vets today to get some meds, was waiting for him to come home, got worried b/c he is always home, found him in the yard nearly dead, died w/in moments of us finding him screaming in pain. Pretty positive it was poison, thinking most likely antifreeze.

Oops. Forgot MiniB's picture of his little tiny brooder. He loves his feather duster, it's hilarious. Snuggles up into the middle of it and sleeps.

Aaawwww, most spoiled baby EVER! When I die, I want to reincarnate as one of your chickens. Every creature on this earth should be loved so much.
