Meet Gabe; he's a real HAM.
I'm sure I've posted these before but you guys make me miss my Pyrs so bad  I used to have 6 of them all from the same lines from a lady in Rocky Ford, CO. I lost the last one about 8 yrs ago. These 2 are Quinn and Jonah.

And on a side note, MiniB is 8 days old now. I still hold the syringe for him to eat but at least he laps it up on his own. He's .3 oz now so he's lost .10 oz, that concerns me. Maybe I'm not keeping his crop full enough. I sure love the little guy (or girl!)

I tried & tried to get my pics up and can not upload, bummer.... Your pups R great! Beautiful. Age? Anymore available?
Those pups were 8 weeks old at time of picture. That was in 2002. Gabriel and his Missy have been gone for some time now. When I saw you had gotten some new ones I just had to post the ole boy's pic.

I hope everyone has stripped your garden, pulled in your indoor plants and settled your birds for this very cold night and freeze in the morning.

We spent the day in the garden and finally decided to move the Bantams inside the barn instead of working on the coop for their pen.

I'm going to be making some green tomato pickles this week....so surprised to find 18 gallons of green tomatoes ...That box under the bowls of peppers is full of tomatoes. Looks like the family will be cooking a lot of fried green tomatoes,

We cut the vines off the sweet potatoes and discovered that critters had been eating the tops out of the tubers...crop was really small...about 15 pounds....pretty disappointing.

When I took the dogs out for their last run and to check the locks on the pen gates, there were two huge owls on one of the Purple Martin gourd poles hooting back and forth...must have been a parent with a young bird on a hunting trip. I alerted Roger. They swooped down into the garden and landed right by one of the pens and Roger was able to shoot one. This one was bigger than the one that got the Cochins last month.

Set eggs in the incubator. One of the Serama pairs is laying. A Delaware Bantam hen was sitting on 5 marked eggs...found her on 15 eggs that other hens had contributed. So I left her the marked ones and moved the others to the incubator. Also set 11 Columbian Wyandotte eggs. I'm hoping to get some to hatch...the test eggs made it to day 10 but didn't hatch.

is anyone familiar with causes of anemia in birds? i have a serama hen that is extremely pale, been wormed with safeguard, ivomeced for mites - have her on nutridrench...she is active, and molting
