Poor Junebug isn't getting better. Her little legs can kick, but she can't support any weight on them. Every day I was dreading the diaper change, so I wasn't spending as much time with her as I should, then tonight I had a serious facepalm moment. I took a regular sandwich baggie and tucked it inside the diaper with the clips stuck through the fold and the flap across the bottom. I also trimmed her vent feathers.

Now I need to rig a harness for her, so her legs can extend and she won't have to spend all day in a diaper. If you guys have diaper tips and tricks, I sure would appreciate them.

Lap time! She let me feed her about half a pound of mealworms.

is anyone familiar with causes of anemia in birds? i have a serama hen that is extremely pale, been wormed with safeguard, ivomeced for mites - have her on nutridrench...she is active, and molting

Robin - Is your little girl improving. I've never seen a comb so pale before.

Nov 1...6 weeks till the Shawnee Poultry Show Dec 13!
Is anyone entering birds for the show?

I wasn't able to go last year. I want to go this year, so I may need to bring a kid backpack so that I carry my youngest grand baby. She'll love sitting up higher than everyone else.

It's official, beginning next week you can buy chicks from our farm at Lee's Feed in Tulsa! So exciting! They also do delivieries to Claremore if they have interest! We have big plans for next year!

Go Rinda! That's awesome. What's your farm name? I want to be able to elbow people and say, "I know the folks who run that farm."

i was there but didn't get to go to the lunch wish i could have.

If lunch plans are made, please put me on the list for one adult and two little ones. I went three years ago.... could it have been so long ago? I remember eating at a Mexican restaurant, and the food was wonderful. The wait staff was great, and they took our large group in stride.

I haven't been online much this weekend. Two weeks ago I saw a doctor who told me my cough was the result of allergies. I received a strong decongestant and was dismissed. I took the decongestant as prescribed, but the cough continued. Last Friday, the end of the second week of coughing, I returned to the doctor. "It's pneumonia," he said. "Why have you waited so long to come see me?" I didn't have a good comeback, so I just coughed as he filled out a new prescription. My rib cage aches. My joints ache. I'm tired of coughing.

Coral, I had pneumonia a few months ago and couldn't believe how sick I was. It wiped me out for a good month. I still don't feel back to anything that could be considered normal. I had no idea pneumonia could make you so sick. You'll seriously need to use up some of those sick days at work and stay under blankets for a couple days at home. Please take care of yourself or it'll hang on forever.

Mitzi is right Coral, you do need rest and to take care of it before it gets even worse.

Thank you Ksane and Kassaundra for the advice. I'm bad about judging my readiness after being sick. I have been resting since Friday evening. As per my doctor's instructions, I've been doing deep breathing exercises to assist pulmonary toiletry (coughing up mucous). If I don't feel a lot better tonight, I will use another sick day.

Well... we don't officially have a farm name, we started with chickens and are staying focused on it so we usually just go by our website name, Chicken Fanatics. We have bees and honey, will have goats and goat milk, and Australian Shepherds as well. But hubby and I can't agree on an overall blanket name so Chicken Fanatics sticks! Can't do anything Myers, too confusing with Meyer hatchery. The creek in our pasture is a subsidiary of Fife Creek but we don't really love that as a name.

Yuck so sorry to hear. Rest and get better! At least you can drink some warm lemon tea with honey to soothe your throat.
