***OKIES in the BYC III ***

:frow  Hiya Gang!!  I will never be able to read all the posts I have missed LOL I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still a kicking and miss you all I am downsizing quite a bit getting ready to retire as of March first will probably upsize again after I figure out how things are going to be after I get used to not having the full paychecks anymore,

is there still an auction in Newcastle and at Blanchard? I need to run a ton of cages and such to them if so. I am going to try not to be as much a stranger even if I am a stranger LOL I do see a lot of new faces on here thats awesome indeed,

The next Blanchard auction is December 13th. Glad you are back!

I did something foolish yesterday. I am inheritantly clumsy anyway but it makes it worse when I am carrying a mountain of clean towels to be folded. On my way to the couch where I was going to fold the towels I misjudged the wall and ran my barefoot into the corner. I am positive I broke a toe. The crack was very loud and as the day went on my toe swelled and turned purple. We had plans yesterday to cut down our Christmas tree ect so I limped along but today I am going to sit and grade papers. I don't have time to be immobile! I have lots to do

I thought you guys might appreciate this... Somebody in the Orpington thread referred to their juvenile roos as "ugly little Skeksies." If you get that reference, you will probably agree, and you MIGHT laugh as hard as I did! :rofl

Well dangit, this year just isn't supporting my chicken addiction very well. Every year one of my best friends and I get together and bake presents for Christmas. We've crunched our calendars and the only day we can do it is, of course, the Saturday of the Shawnee show. First I had to miss POOPS for my daughter's wedding, and now this... I think my loved ones are conspiring against me!

I can't complain though. I guess there are much worse things in life than somebody wanting to spend a day with me drinking wine and baking a few hundred cookies. :D

So glad to see you back Bill. The Blanchard auction is Saturday the 13th but there is also the big Shawnee Chicken show...come eat lunch with us at Abuelitos and we can all give you ideas for retirement.

Retired in 2004 and feel like my days are more full now than back then....pooped today and still need to go out and check feed and water for the cage birds , prep dinner and fold two loads of laundry. With Roger still fighting his respiratory infection, I've been helping Larry with the cattle this past week...getting gates for feeding and helping to put out hay, sorting herds and adding bulls for fall breeding as well as pulling calves to wean, etc....all in addition to tending the chickens, housework, food prep, cleaning, laundry, physical therapy 3 days a week and making Olaf body parts for a costume for a friend. It is a good thing the garden is not in full production! I pulled some carrots for dinner tonight. Got to see Mitzi and Scott for about 10 minutes because I had to hurry back to help put out the hay bales.
Whew! better get up off my lazy behind and go check those birds.....be back later.

Eek! Did you take care of it? That sounds about right for what happened. At least now you know!

We will miss you! But it sounds like you will have an enjoyable day without us!

OUCH!!!! Take it easy or you will be down a lot longer! Easier advice to give than to follow though!
