***OKIES in the BYC III ***

This picture reminds me of the surrealist painting you were working on, I don't remember ever seeing it finished???
I think I know the painting you are talking about. It went home with a student as soon as it was finished. I don't think I took a picture.

We've got bunnies in the yard that don't run from me. I plan to do another painting with more contrast. The bunny disappears into the grass in this one (he did, actually), but I think it would be fun to paint one where the bunny is distinct and realistic.

Hi Betsy!

I was thinking about you this past weekend. Char started High School today. Four more years and she will be on her own and off to college, oh how time is flying. Not sure if I mentioned we had another child, he will be a year old in about one month. I have a TV Vashi can have for parts or fixing or whatever he would like to do with it. I hope you are doing well. I need to get on here more often, but with the new baby he has kept me pretty busy.

I have been thinking of getting more chickens again as I really miss having fuzzy butts to play with and keep me entertained, not to mention their delicious eggs.

I think i have a predator found half a 4mo old chick in my grow out pen, what would eat the front half of a chick and be able to squeeze through the wire no signs of digging under.

Possum will eat the front portion of chickens, and leave the back. I've evidenced this many times.
My only experience with weasels is when I lived in San Joaquin Valley, California. They are only about a foot long and 2 inches or so wide with a tail about a foot long . All they would eat was the chicken's brain.

Good to see you on here! Can't believe Char is old enough for High School! Where are you living now? You did mention your new little boy. What fun! Thanks for thinking of it, but I think Vashi doesn't need anymore tvs. We are doing well, thanks!

I've had possums do this as well. We shot one last night that was digging in our trash.

Nana, I'm interested in the "small peach" that you're preserving. Someone recently brought an ornamental peach to the Sr. Center, asking if it could be used for anything. I have several ornamental peach trees that produce very small peaches that are edible, 'though a tiny bit bitter. Is this what you're referring to? or could your recipe be used with them?
It is a dwarf peach from Stark nursery that is supposed to have standard sized free stone peaches. I think the graft may have died because the fruit, while tasty, is golf ball sized, not freestone and hard to peel. I make the juice for jelly from this peach and use fruit from the freezer from a better peach for the chopped fruit for the jam.

Really like the technique
