***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Got an egg question. Am I thinking correct that hens generally lay the same shaped egg? I have 4 cream Legbars just starting to lay and I have 2 olive not blue colored eggs. They are shaped differently so does that mean I have to weirdo cream Legbars or just one? I got the first green egg early in the week and the smaller one with spots today
There is a bluish cream Legbar egg on top for comparison

My girls eat the okra seeds.

I pulled a bunch of pears off the tree in august and they sat in the fridge for 2 weeks. I think they're moonglow too. They were rock hard and really grainy when I got them off the tree and I put them in the fridge. Just ate one and it was nice and tender and not grainy at all. It was delicious! The chickens love em too!

I can cut open the ones that were hiding and grew too big before I picked them. the birds can have fun picking at them then.

There is nothing better than a sweet, juicy pear or peach!

did anyone miss me? Wait, don't answer that you'll hurt my feelings. Joye had some pretty serious heart problems so I've spent some time in the hospital with her. They did a procedure that seems to have helped her and she seems to be back to her old (well old may be to a little strong) self. And I've been recovering from a 5 inch slash on my forearm from a bear. Well a turkey bear. Ok just a turkey, but bear sounds better. It's almost the same thing anyway. My daughter was trying to introduce my grandsons Great Pyrenees puppy to the birds (but the dog is supposed to protect them she said) but the turkeys didn't get the memo. One decided my shoulder was the tallest thing around so he clawed his way up my arm, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. Two emergency room visits and giant doses antibiotics later it's almost healed.
On another subject, raptors got another Narraganset hen and a goose. I can get back to covering runs now, in the meantime I've got a BUNCH of birds crowded in a 20x30 pen.

Of course we missed you, glad to have you back in one piece. Glad your wife is better too.
