Here are some pics from today of the broody and her babies

out of light brown egg

Both reds out of light brown eggs both blacks out of white eggs, this black one has a shorter torso

This lighter one was out of the darkest of the eggs, it keeps surprising me, really had no hope it would live on hatch day.

This little black one has the normal torso length.

Exhausted! We had Christmas with two of our three daughters and their families. I was up until 5 am this morning putting finishing touches on the meal prep, wrapping packages and finishing the pies and cookies. We had made a trip to Tulsa Saturday to pick up an aluminum wheelchair ramp for hubby's mom. My schedule was thrown off by 4 hours. She so needs the ramp so the time was well spent. All the teenagers were here and food disappears quickly.
The last daughter and her family will be here next weekend. That's the two little boys who love visiting the chickens and tossing scratch. SIL is talking about building a chicken tractor for a few hens this spring.

Love the pictures of the new calf!

So sorry the meds are giving you fits. Recovery is often a challenge even without reactions to meds. Hope your sleep improves. REM sleep is so necessary for quick healing. Thoughts and prayers.

Yes, it was a full house for sure. Met the oldest granddaughters boyfriend...such a nice respectful and polite young man. He will be playing football for OBU.

Hey guys! Have your girls stopped laying? Mine haven't laid since Thursday. They are all under a year old and had been laying 4-6 eggs a day (i have 6 hens). I am thinking it is because of the short days.

Sorry the meds are giving you fits, Wayne, but you know it will get better. Sounds like a great time, Kathryn! We'll be with daughter S-I-L, grandson and his wife and daughter and her family Christmas Day. The rest of our family are in Kansa City. We'll spend a few days in early January with 4 of my 5 brothers and some of their families.

Merry Cristmas, everyone!
