Moved to Texas...sold all bird related items...there were tears at that auction.

Teaching...of course! Now I am an ag teacher and counselor...and a reluctant baseball coach. Loving it!! I can leave school and be fishing in my boat on a lake in under 15 minutes

Much closer to the brother who has a much smaller flock of birds but bunches of horses and dogs! We have a hunting lease together so we spend alot of time together and thus lots of time explainin' to our wives.

Boys are still shorter than me...for now...oldest is a junior...played qb most of the season and is now in basketball. Taking several college courses doing fine in them. He is lean. Younger one is in 8th...tad shorter than his brother...but bulkier. He is a center and not a basketball fan! Once he decides he is tough it won't be good. He would prefer school was optional and he got to work. He has been taking in skulls and doing European mounts....getting good.

I have no birds currently but will soon be picking up quail for an ag project! Gonna do some animal husbandry and such lessons! Got Doc's bator and getting it set! Just can't take it home! No snakes either now...had a rattler briefly....wife caught me with it....I couldn't explain fast enough....it is now in a jar.

It is with a heavy heart I make this announcement. Rudy the rudester has died. He wasn't sick or unwell acting, his death was sudden and unexpected and did not involve trauma. His life was as full as any rooster could expect, he got to live his life w/ the sun on his face and w/ his own flock of adoring flockmates both chicken and rabbit. He will be missed.

It is with a heavy heart I make this announcement. Rudy the rudester has died. He wasn't sick or unwell acting, his death was sudden and unexpected and did not involve trauma. His life was as full as any rooster could expect, he got to live his life w/ the sun on his face and w/ his own flock of adoring flockmates both chicken and rabbit. He will be missed.

Kass - I'm so sorry to hear Rudy is gone. It sounds like he didn't suffer.

-could still be a girl? Since Jack's tom died one of the three hens has be strutting around with her tail up and spread like a tom. Maybe you hen is doing that?

Probably not, 'she's' been hanging out with the toms, and this evening were playing the 'uncle' version of turkey fighting. Even though she has no snood, there was still enough skin from her chin to grab.
