Husband said I could have more chicks this summer!!! And I get to pick out a few of my fave breeds. Anyone know of a reputable website to order chicks from? Or a place in NE Oklahoma I can look into for mid summer chicks?

We bought our first babies from Tractor Supply and only now are we realizing there are loads of other options... But I have no idea where to start. We want a few more good egg laying hens (maybe Speckled Sussex, Wyandottes, and Marans) and we will probably want some meat birds at the same time.

I think so too, I've printed out a few pictures of clothes you've made for them just because I love looking at them. Red just looks like the perfect color for her. Do you have to made them anything in the summer for any reason?

Not until this year, She needs protection from the roo so she will need clothes all summer.

Okay guys, Miss Phyllis went broody, but that poses some logistic problems, how does a momma chicken keep her babies warm w/o feathers. The answer of course is a special maternity dress, like that wasn't obvious This is prototype one. It is the leg of one of Gary's thermal undies and some wool scraps.

I like Murray McMurray or Ideal. I think I just sold all that I'm going to sell out of the incubator. But I have a Dark Cornish hen that is setting and should hatch next week. She was running with 3 dark Cornish Roo's and a RIR roo. I'm between Nowata and Vinita and North. How many do you want?

Atwoods gets their chicks from Ideal. Might check with your local store to see when their next order goes in. Sometimes they will let you piggyback orders.

I've raised some beauties from them. For a hatchery, they have some great looking birds at decent prices.

Oh oh thermal swimsuit

I'm sooo thankful for this sunny weather to dry out! Got my tractor moved n the girls are excited bout being able to scratch up the soft ground n such. Wife come home with a little melon from somewhere so all of us got a cool down treat yesterday afternoon after cutting more ice storm wood.
