***OKIES in the BYC III ***

when I travel with birds in the vehicle...a.k.a. the momma mobile we put down one of those cheap plastic type table cloths that has the faric backing so not the super cheap but the fairly cheap...what we found is the super cheap slide around and don't get the job done butt he kind with the fabric grips the carpet and so doesn't move. Get one big enough that will go up the sides thaw way any liquids will stay in and not run off and you can just pull it out shake and spray with a hose....dry and fold and you are good to go! I keep them in the vehicles...I have way too many ways to haul birds....show boxes with individual compartments, pet carriers of various sizes, wire cages of various forms from designed for rabbits to yup I can get a turkey in there to....

I have only traveled with birds in the back of my car. We just throw an old blanket in and around the cage. I will say that if the trip is a long one, sometimes we have to crack a few windows.

TJ's Na-Na :

Hello to all the newbies on here !!! And "hey y'all" to
all the oldies!!! Computer has been down and just
now have had time to get it fixed.

Bill has done super with the knee replacement and is
doing stuff in therapy that he couldn't do before surgery.
TJ is doing fine and ready for school to be out.

He didn't get to do any showing last fall through all
the sick stuff with the chickens up here, but no
problem with our immediate area being covered
by one of our Junior BYC'ers.

Madison (Sooner's girl) has done a FANTASTIC job in our quad
county 4-H Poultry Shows !!! She has much to be
proud of and we're sure proud of her. TJ's sure
gonna have to kick it up a notch this fall.....LOL
Have a good one, all !

Nana, it is so good to hear from you and that all is better.
Tell Billand TJ hello from us.

I can't remember if I posted about this or not but I hatched 106 chicks out of 137 eggs. I lost a few of the late hatchers, they are just never as strong.
I ended up 101 chicks with 40 NN chicks this time.
I am bringing some of the crosses, Ameraucanas and EE's to POOPS.

Quote:
I put a towel down, then put an old feed sack or tarp on top of that, then put the cage over that. Ditto on what Cayuse said about cracking the windows...

Quote:
We use a cheap plastic tarp under the cages. ($2) and then when I get home I use it to cover the outside pens. That gets it clean.
I have several show boxes that I just set on the tarp and it doesn't move around much.

OK Here is a revised list of those coming to POOPS in Fletcher on MAY 14.
I am trying to get as accurate of a headcount as I can.
Please check the list and let me know of any omissions, additions or subtractions
and I will update the list.
Hope to see everyone there.
