***OKIES in the BYC III ***

6chick*start :

Trying this again...anyone?
Am I asking this in the wrong place?

Hello Okies!
Where do y'all get your chicks? I am north of Tulsa and purchased my 6 at Atwoods 7 weeks ago.
All girls but my one Polish is looking rooish.
I really want a few more Polish girls. They've had no more at Atwoods. Also none of the staff there seems to know what breed any of their chicks are.
Would like to find a few silkies too.
I've had no luck searching online for breeders around the Tulsa area.

Your best bet would be to get a magazine called The Poultry Press. They used to send out 1 sample copy if you were thinking about subscribing. Just do a search for them. A lot of the breeders listed will have show birds offered for sale and there is no guarentee that any will be in the Tulsa area.

Never sell your tack!!

Ha - that's why I kept it - back then, and probably now, it would be less expensive to get a horse than it would be to get tack.

And the ropes will always come in handy.

Well for tying things on the car and as gate fasteners, what were ya'll thinking of??

I see that much of the Western half of Oklahoma is under a tornado watch, but the chances of precipitation are only about 27%. What is wrong with THIS picture?

I didn't water the tomato and pepper plants that have yet to be planted, because the air this evening seemed to feel like it should rain. Guess I will be watering them in the morning if the wind hasn't blown all the leaves off of them.

Kassaundra - 2 tons of chicken feed didn't last 3 months at the beginning of this year. I am hopeful that with some downsizing I have been doing, that it will last 4 months.

hi folks- was unloading the camera and thought you'd enjoy this one....my broody is a riot!

Well in '99 there was almost no precip. with the May 3rd storms which is a good thing. Can you imagine those monsters wrapped in rain?

I did downsize and I am only 400 pounds of feed behind you.

50lbs of pellets last us roughly 3 weeks

We use about the same amount of chick food, so 100lbs of feed every 3 weeks

Great photo - I love his expression!

I know, he looks as if he is about to eat that little chick! He rushed in after his campout, ran past me (no hello) and said "How are the chicks!" Wow, I've been replaced.
